I have to foot-pump up pressure by pressing a billion times on the floor in order to build up pressure and at some point release some wiper fluid. V:v:V

It was just above freezing earlier, now it's dipped slightly below. Lemme go check our thermometer. [editline]26th December 2012[/editline] This is as warm as it'll be today. It was 33f/0.5c earlier.
Well that's not too bad. I think it's about -5c here now. Perfect winters day (except it's in the middle of the night right now). We've had a few weeks of it being between -15c and -7c.
Well, this is the warmest part of the day. Around about 9AM it was -22c here. No idea what it was overnight. Don't want to think about it. [editline]26th December 2012[/editline] It's more the cold wind that gets you here, though.
I hate wind.

that's the beautiful thing about old mercs - you don't get the luxuries of having power windows or an electric pump for windshield wipers, you get the luxury of having some of the best build quality around. don't want to add a lot of after-market stuff to it. All I can think of doing right now is adding the wheel-arches, some historic license plates and might fit a couple of hidden speakers. [editline]edit[/editline] not bass or something, oh my. Just some hidden ones to improve the sound quality.
-30C here, dont even want to leave the house to go to the garage most days.

That manifold leak makes it sounds like water running down a drain.
that thing is so quiet, omg
That manifold leak makes it sounds like water running down a drain.
Yeah, I'm sure a ebay header would do the trick. That's what you can get her for her birthday! [sp]or as a surprise...[/sp]
bought a center console from a 98 v6 mustang from some 15 year old kid and threw it in the cobra cupholders :zoid:

Just Mercs....
Went to shop to get transmission oil changed. Redline 75W-80 GL-4. Old one was really silver in color being drained it sucked. Now it shifts like butter. I also got hooked up with a used $40 rear tire; old owner was mad doriftu on the rears However, like old cars go, fix one fix another. Before I could leave the shop my starter just said NOPE. They had to bump start me which was embarrassing. Oh well. Hope my GF is happy [editline]Edit[/editline] I guess it didn't need a starter after all. The rubber stopper on the clutch pedal just totally disintegrated and nothing was touching the clutch switch during pedal depress. I taped a lucky quarter I found and now it starts lol
All older cars are not like this are they? Just Mercs....
oh god let's not get into this but if we look at build quality of mercs today and mercs back then, we all know which one wins in build quality. maintenance on the older ones are higher and they chew a lot more petrol though.
I took off the old intake manifold on my truck and water pump. Installed both the new intake manifold and water pump. Painted the valve covers and installed the 4bbl carburetor. Going to flush the radiator tomorrow.
Mine don't even work at all. They were intermittent for a bit but now it doesn't do anything. Not even a a wirr from the pump. Maybe I'll diagnose it tomorrow, being a Citroen I bet it's an electrical problem in the most inaccessible place possible.
Called it, I have to remove one of the front wheels to drop the plastic wheel arch cover to get to the pump on the underside of the washer fluid tank. The pump is making a clicking noise (Not a relay sound!), I'm guessing this is the diverter valve built into the pump as it only clicks if I alternately try to spray the front and rear windows. The pumps on these work by running forward to spray the front window and backwards to spray the rear window, a little plastic piece slides to divert the flow. I'm going to remove the pump to have a butchers, might just need cleaning out. If not £6 for new pump isn't bad.
That's not that bad.... All the newer B5's and C5's Volkswagen's and Audi's require tire removal to get to the same thing, and more...
We talking about wipers or fluid sprayers..? Cos I just remembered that my grand am's wiper settings were: Low(fast, like too fast for anything but nigh downpour High(SUPERFUCKINGFAST, like holy shit why GM?)
Yeah fucking grand prix has like 4 settings but all of them are the same but the last one. First one is stupidly slow, 2nd and 3rd the same, then the 4th one i feel like they are going to come flying off. My honda has 3 settings, One for custom timing where i can turn a dial on the handle to change the timing, I have a feeling it's just the 2 settings and this is the 3rd medium setting cause i've noticed no difference between it. 2nd one is the one i use when it's anything beyond a light drizzle even then i just pull it back to quickly wipe. The last one is stupidly fast too but useful for downpour's. Not as bad as the grand prick. I remember driving on the highway and my windshield was getting wet on a really sunny day i was like what the fuck. A car like 30ft ahead of me was using his windshield fluid and it was going over. I then got ahead of him and used mine cause i knew if i hold mine down it starts to overshoot also. He drove past me and beeped :v:
I finished installing a new aluminum intake manifold, 600CFM Edelbrock Carburetor, new gaskets, new water pump, lots of paint. [t]http://i.imgur.com/IPpJL.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/30z6q.jpg[/t]

I just finished splicing a head unit into GF's 240 in the dark. Gold-plated couplers and I crimped them in. Still missing a driver side rear speaker but finally some modern electronics in this 80's thing:

It was on sale at Vatozone for $40. :P Got around to checking the timing on the girlfriend's ka24e. Turns out its running completely retarded in timing which equated to a loss of power. It's bogging hard. It's a mixture of exhaust manifold leak and timing chain slack. Her tensioner guide is in pieces so the chain is just flopping around in there. It might have skipped a tooth. It idles quite high when I do the diagnostic procedure. Previous owner made up for it by advancing the timing during diagnostic in order to match the timing on hooked-up idle. I reverted to factory specs so I can see what the deal is with this engine. Fixed a couple of coolant leaks by tightening the clamps. You really don't know if you did it right until you tighten everything up.
