start by swapping ecu, fuel pump, fuel rail, fuel injectors. get rid of that misfire before dumping moneh into a transmission
I'm doing that, I just ordered the coil, replaced plugs, cleaned Dist, Replaced Ignition ecu.

I managed to remove my car stereo without taking out the fascia, the thing just slid out once the clips were pulled away. At first I was like "Oh this is gonna be easy", but then... [t]http://i.imgur.com/vBbkQUv.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/iK3rwuK.jpg[/t] Aww shit. [editline]13th February 2013[/editline] Give up, my uncle knows someone who will do it.

GF's Corolla oil change. Should be cake. Also, I have to transplant the PS line from my car to hers and get a warranty replacement. I pushed down on the hose a little bit and something inside the banjo fitting cracked, allowing the fluid to leak out.
Remove ScotchLocks, Get proper Vauxhall-to-ISO Harness converter. Connect new radio. Done.
Even though I have a degree in IT and networks, I don't know a whole lot about electronics. If I remove the scotch locks, won't that mean there will just be bare wire left? Or am I missing something? I don't even know why they're there haha. Am I right in thinking they're used to turn 1 wire into 2? So removing them all will just get rid of that black connector; leaving me with the stock blue connections? I am very determined to do this myself, but my lack of knowledge and experience fails me.
Don't be spooked with the amount of wires, most of them should be just speaker wires
I don't believe those blue things are stock. In the picture they look like a lazy mans way of putting 2 wires together. Some one must have done a conversion at one point and rewired it, and wired it back to stock. What I would do is what Tezzanator92 sayed. Remove the blue shit, solder the wires back to there partner, and find a adapter! [editline]fdjg n[/editline] And what Junk slinger sayed to! There just mainly Power,Antenna, and Speaker outputs. God have mercy if you ever see the back of a Audi's harness.
While I'm waiting for the part I need for my heater core... thought I'd have a go at trying to fix my door. Something got bent somewhere somehow and I don't think it's the door hinge because I tried to put washers in the lower one to straighten it out but then it wouldn't shut properly... so I ended up adding washers to make the fender sit forward a little more, at least enough to where it doesn't rub and make a horrendous creak every time I open it... Before [t]http://i45.tinypic.com/2dvimxg.jpg[/t] After [t]http://i48.tinypic.com/2dkzos6.jpg[/t]
Sweet. I need to do something about the alignment of my driver side door. It was destroyed when the car was rather new. It was open while my novice driver at the time cousin backed up the car and the door was in the way of a stationary pole... So the alignment is a bit low and shit looking. The door was replaced but obviously some shit was bent.
Normally it's just a hinge alignment. You'll prolly need a jack so you can support the door and just loosen the bolts on the lower hinge, pump the jack just a tiny bit, tighten and test. Repeat till door is aligned. You may need to do the same with the upper hinge too. And alot of door hinges have bolts inside and outside, such as you can only get to them by taking out parts of the dash or kick panel on the side. It's a pain but worth it for no/less paint damage/noise/misaligned door latches.
I really think it's the fender, just because everything on the latch side of the door lines up perfectly, the gap between the front and back doors is fine... I dunno. I'm just gonna leave it how I have it now haha
Oh I got a package Nothing says Valentine's Day like 6061 aircraft aluminum.
7075 is better [editline]14th February 2013[/editline] Biased though because I work around an aircraft sheet metal shop.
I just bought $50 of parts from Acura, bunch of clips, bolts, nuts, bits, fender bracket and a new dipstick because mine is nasty lol. Apparently you can get the indestructible stock paper speakers which sound as good as anything you'll get short of putting a couple hundred into audio(IMO) for 9.98 each lol. Also bought a K&N filter for a DIY Icebox/Cold air intake I'm gonna make.
I worked on my interviewing skills today. I would be a toyota salesman as of today if I didn't have class that interferes with work hours.
7075 is better [editline]14th February 2013[/editline] Biased though because I work around an aircraft sheet metal shop.
It might be a little stronger but it's also terrible to weld with and corrodes much faster. 6061 is ideal for any application that doesn't require an aluminum as strong as steel.
found out what the coolant leak is Auxiliary water pump is leaking. All this thing does is pump coolant through the heater core when the engine is at low RPMs or the engine is off and the coolant temp is above 30C. Shop wanted $800 to fix it. Nope. Going to live with it.

God have mercy if you ever see the back of a Audi's harness.
L O L That is the SAME plug as Audi used for a wiring harness. Up until the early 2000's. It's just blue and in one piece instead of black/brown/rainbow like an Audi's Ave a look here, Similar, no? The only difference is that the Audio plug pinout (posted above) has *less* wires that that Vauxhall will have! Since the rear speakers would be amplified externally, there's a common ground set of outputs on 1/3 of the rainbow plug, and only 4 speakers wires instead of 8 in the speaker wire harness. As it stands, Audi plugs are no different than VW plugs (well, minus the external amplification, generally). Even when VW/Audio changed their style from using the rainbow plug to using this style Nothing much changed, wiring wise, only pin assignments. The one thing to look out for. Anything in Audi/VW past the early 00's was a data turn on. NO swtiched 12v wire, the BCM told the radio to turn on via 1' and 0's. So replacing the radio in those either needs a module (meh) or you gotta go tap a relay off the keysense wire at the column (if you want it to turn on/ off like it did from the factory, after you pull the key out). Had to lay the knowledge on y'all, sorry. In the case of the Vauxhall, anyways, not to get off topic. You're going to want to get one of these: The top 1/3 of the plug with the mini wires coming out of it is some BS you don't need to worry about, clock data and junk. Get that harness, match wire colors, and if necessary, break the top part of the (car's) harness off and file it down so the two 8 pin portions fit nicely into that piece I posted. Wire it up, color to color... ensure that it's an analog power antenna turn on in the power antenna spot (and not some stupid Data wire like it is on post 1996 VW's), and you'll be good. Hollar if there's questions.
Holy fuck almost got my toe smashed in, was torquing the head bolts to spec and one of the wheels that the engine stand sits on collapses and the whole thing falls were my foot was. Luckily the engine beam/bracket that bolts onto the frame took all the force. [editline]14th February 2013[/editline] also got the lower intake on :D
I did not know it was related to vw's electrical.... Welp, we all learn something new.
Well, Euro cars are guilty of all using that style plug at some times, it seems like (ollddd Mercedes, a few BMWs, Slaab, etc). Another term for it is a "DIN plug". It's fun, Parrot universal Bluetooth kits are manufactured or made in Europe somewhere, IIRC, and they come with a T harness with DIN plugs, so a Euro car with your basic DIN plugs is a plug and play scenario with those things. Fun stuff.

Few questions because halfords are selling adaptors for like £18... To wire it up I would have to cut off the original blue plugs completely? There are multiple wires of the same colour coming from my car, which one do I use? [editline]14th February 2013[/editline] Actually I may be wrong about the same coloured wires thing, I'll double check sometime.

That black piece I have posted will plug directly into the blue plug (possibly may have to modify the blue plug, as I mentioned). You will wire the harness that plugs into your new aftermarket radio to the harness that plug into the car's blue plug.
