Changed oil; made mess
those crazy german cars, oil drain is in the taillight isnt it
Bradley, I just happen to have a bunch of stuff laying around now that I've got a whole Z6. I've actually got a whole Y8 block if you are looking to have it hot-tanked, honed, etc. I wouldn't use it if you didn't have it machined though.
Not a huge fan of the Y8 block... Y7/Y8 blocks have alot of crank oiling issues, bearing-eatingist motherfuckers I've ever seen. I mean, if it was free, I'd take it. lol. But otherwise I'm really set on an A6/Z6 block. Also, totally raced in Japfeiffer's blue civic hatch tonight. It was.... The slowest thing I've driven EVER. Besides my '88 Lancer with the 4G15 in it..... Maybe. Raced a Diamante with 20s and green neon. Video later.
those crazy german cars, oil drain is in the taillight isnt it
What are you dumb? That's the blinker oil.
What are you dumb? That's the blinker oil.
oh shit you're right wait, i meant blinker oil totally
Actually everything was easier to get to than the 240... Drain plug right at the back of the oil pan and the filter right in front of it. 240 had the filter under the intake manifold on top of the motor mount behind the alternator..
Definately wish I was driving my own car. Jap's car didn't look too bad doing it, except that it was slow as balls.
240 had the filter under the intake manifold on top of the motor mount behind the alternator..
I KNOW... that single thing is making me put off my oil change
Fucking Nissan. Ask Apoc about the filter in the pathfinder :p
No. Because I'll fucking kill you. Especially since the fucking OIL CHANGE is coming UP and FUCK THAT TRUCK I have to remove my passenger side front tire and inner fender and get around the fucking headers and a plate over the starter just to be able to even touch the oil filter. Fuck unscrewing it, that's just to touch it.
I just realised that i said something to someone on here about the ls400 starter or alternator or something being like inside the V of the engine and it being like a 10 hour job to change, guess what car my dad just bought for $2000 lol
A Ferrari. [editline]11th April 2011[/editline] I give up; what.
...a ls400
Oh, I didn't see the comma. My B.
Yesterday I hit the junkyard, found a replacement fan guard for the engine compartment, new latch for the center console, and insulating trim for the driver and passenger front windows. Once the old trim was out of the way, the windows could roll up and down without difficulty. The center console is also now correct, which I understand is a rarity among old Jeeps. We even found a headliner while we were down there, but we didn't have the tools to get it out. :( Today I went out and removed the tint from the windshield too, and got the oil filter replaced and a safety check done. No surprises. :D
i finally got round to taking pictues of the Escort XR3
i think you have a couple trim panels missing
i think you have a couple trim panels missing
Nah, it's the Escort XR3 Superleggera.
Nah, it's the Escort XR3 Superleggera.
I thought it was the Super Soapbox-Racer Edition, with advanced gyroscopic crouch stabilization and fenderless aerodynamics technologies. TBH, I think it would be pretty fun to coast that sucker down a steep hill, with brakes of coarse.
I thought it was the Super Soapbox-Racer Edition
It funny you should say that. but it's actually entered for a concours sometime this year
I tore the entire D16Y8 in my civic apart yesterday to change timing belt/water pump, only to find my impact wrench wouldn't take off the crank pulley. Herpaderp. New impact wrench today and hopefully it will come off. Except it's raining and shitty right now, I hope the weather clears up this afternoon.
Breaker bar wedged against frame/ground, then crank motor over
Primered more of my car. It's 50% black now.
Got new impact wrench. Got bolt off. It started raining, I went inside. :<
Today I'll most likely get the new radiator from USA :3:
Got new impact wrench. Got bolt off. It started raining, I went inside. :<
Sounds like where I live.
Got T-belt off, tensioner, etc. Found: Fine water pump. Also found: Crack in block. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Nah, my EK coupe. Now I need to decide what the fuck to do with it.
I see. Sell it and get a less ugly Civic. EKs are the worst of the "good" era of Civics (1988-2000). Or just slap another motor in. D-series shit is cheap and anything will work with your car. Although I guess you'll need a Y block since it's got the crank sensor.
