Changed my oil. Only had 2,900 miles on the fully synthetic but it's winter and takes a boatload of E85 running extremely rich to get my car started in the morning. E85 is more corrosive than regular gasoline so I'm playing it safe.
Need to seafoam and change the oil so what's the best full synthetic in your opinion?
Need to seafoam and change the oil so what's the best full synthetic in your opinion?
Mobil1, Amsoil, Royal Purple, Valvoline. They're all good. Brand name isn't as important as making sure you use the correct weight oil for your application.
A full GT-R drivetrain, plus labor, plus miscellaneous parts needed to make it work. Definitely above $15,000 hell, a RB26DETT alone goes for what, $6000-$7000?
Why use a skyline drivetrain? If I was on a budget I'd make anything work. I don't care if I had to chop up a Subaru Legacy >____>;; Nobody said nothin' about it being a Nissan-heart 240 AWD swap.

Putting 5W-30 in because we're in the middle of winter. Edit: The only thing stopping me is what could be a stripped drain plug. The homos over at Valvoline had to put in a different plug which would lead me to believe they fucked up... as usual. They gave me the original though.
I've heard great things about Amsoil but I think you've gotta call and place an order. Putting 5W-30 in because we're in the middle of winter.
I'm using Mobil1 in the same weight with a Mobil1 filter.
castrol syntec w/ purolator filter
Royal Purple 5W-30 for me I believe. Was going to get a heavier weight but wasn't sure about weights when I got oil and plus good thing as the winter here in Florida got into the low 30's for a good part of winter. Oil change coming up, probably going to get a bit thicker, maybe 15w-40

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/news/extremes/2010-01-11-florida-cold_N.htm Apparently got down to 14 degrees in the panhandle or something. And not just 30 degrees in central florida, it got to 36 in MIAMI.
Grandparents said it reached about 42 in Punta Gorda. Probably going to end up running Mobil1 with a Fram filter.
thats kind of a dick move now we have to start making locking valve stem caps?
That's what I said but he made it seem like the person didn't even realize they were on there. Oh well. And I'm pretty sure they have valve stems like that. They have a cylinder over the cap that will just rotate forever unless you have they key.
yeah he could have had like a baller ass voltex evo at home and wanted to add a touch of jdm to his DD
I think I am going to put a custom CAI on my car soon. There's a mod for the NA Soobies that uses a ram air intake from a 95ish Honda Accord, and it routes into the fender to get cold air from there rather than from the engine bay. It uses the stock torque box and just mounts onto it, so no low end torque is lost. It also keeps the original panel filter, so that is cool.
I opted for the short ram because there is a chance for cold air's to ingest water should you hit a big enough puddle, that and the inside of the fender is gross and full of mud it's the intercoolers job to cool air anyways, that and the stock ram air can be cut to pump cool air into that part of the engine bay, at speed the intake temp is never 5-10f higher then ambient it will heatsoak at a standstill though, but most of the warm air gets forced out by the hoodscoop/ram air once you start moving
if my car has an oil leak that makes the oil go down to the bottom of the dipstick hashmark like every two weeks, does that mean my car gets a full oil change every few months? :v: [editline]26th January 2011[/editline] wow lol, urban dictionary has a definition for it mexican oil change 57 up, 9 down What happens when you have a car that's leaking or burning oil, so you frequently have to add oil to keep your engine from blowing up. Because of the constant consumption and addition of oil, your car always has fresh oil. Yeah, the head gasket blew in my old hoopty, now it burns a quart every week, so I'm doing the Mexican oil change.

If you have to drive through that big of a puddle then you're probably fucked anyway. you really think he didnt know that? he's talking about the oil filter is for keeping the oil "not-dirty" and changing the actual oil is about replacing lost detergents.
