looks pretty good
considering what it looked like before, yeah it does. it's a shame I don't have before pics of the bumper, it was hideous. I plan on doing a fair amount of work to this car, so i guess I'll keep people updated if they're interested (lexus lights, black windows, rims etc) I'm basically going to tidy up the car without crossing the line which makes it look fucking stupid. oh yeah, and I got this car for free, too
gonna install boost solenoid tomorrow, then learn to tune https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGVmYXVsdGRvbWFpbnxhc3ViaWVuZXdiaWV0dW5pbmdndWlkZXxneDoxMGYzM2M5NjBlYzY3ODI4 wish me luck
Got the car in the garage, new wheels are on, and washed it off. After cleaning it off it looks brand new, I used Never Dull on all the chrome and it worked wonders. Greatest product ever. I'll get the pictures up tomorrow, I wanted to wait till it was clean before I got them.
I scuffed up the bits of chrome around my headlights when I polished them up.
i overboosted 25psi and got scared :c gonna try again tomorrow, my laptop is a piece of shit that keeps shutting off and lagging so it makes it 10x harder then it needs to be
Painted my rear bumper black to match the rest of my car... it is now all painted :D I'm slowly sinking a load of cash into the aesthetics on my car, so when I am off my provisional license I can drop an 8 cylinder into it. :v: It's a 95 BMW e36 318i.. I love it.
i overboosted 25psi and got scared :c gonna try again tomorrow, my laptop is a piece of shit that keeps shutting off and lagging so it makes it 10x harder then it needs to be
how do you increase boost with a turbo? i have no idea. i know for superchargers it's just a smaller pulley but tarboes don't have pulleys ): ): ):
I'm stripping my brothers bike down to the frame. I've stopped for a cup of tea, I've only got to remove the front wheel, mud guard and handlebars. Parts of it have been a right bitch due to corrosion. There's a couple of bits on the I think I've just going to have to cut the bolts.
how do you increase boost with a turbo? i have no idea. i know for superchargers it's just a smaller pulley but tarboes don't have pulleys ): ): ):
Either manual or electronic boost controller, or on internal wastegate there is the actuator which has a threaded rod and nut and can be adjusted up to its maximum potential.
how do you increase boost with a turbo? i have no idea. i know for superchargers it's just a smaller pulley but tarboes don't have pulleys ): ): ):
with a wastegate only setup, there's a spring that opens at a certain psi, and with a boost controller it intercepts the vacuum line to the wastegate and sends a lower pressure
This took much longer than I expected
since my laptop sucks so much i made 10 different maps with the WGDC multiplied by 10%-100% and turbo dynamics/comp tables multiplied by 20% for all of them, i'm gonna plug em all in then fine tune whichever map comes closest luck wish etc [editline]14th May 2011[/editline]
how do you increase boost with a turbo? i have no idea. i know for superchargers it's just a smaller pulley but tarboes don't have pulleys ): ): ):
[editline]14th May 2011[/editline] tl;dr the wastegate is just a valve that opens at a certain psi and allows gas to escape around the turbine controlling it's speed
Turbos are gay.
Got paid from work, gonna buy another £40 worth of spray, hopefully will be enough to colour code the front bumper & wheel arches [editline]15th May 2011[/editline] I'm then gonna remove the back Vauxhall emblem and put this in it's place:
I worked on attempting to get a truck exhaust to fit onto my pontiac :v: will post pics :smug:
PCV went bad and my oil filler cap was spewing oil, so I installed a BSH "bulletproof" PCV revamp. Hooray.
can i shoot it
If it breaks and I call BSH and say it didn't handle a bullet very well do you think they'll replace it for me?
do they really say bulletproof and not have a disclaimer saying it wont take a bullet?

DO... IT...
fixed my brakes apparently the caliper pistoney thingy twists back in instead of just going in like i tried to make it do with a c clamp thing lol *my bad*
How'd you end up forcing it back in. Worked on getting some connectors for installing the auxiliary 12v socket I bought 8 months ago that I've been putting off. Of course the add a fuse doesn't fit any of my mini blade fuses. So is it a bad idea to include a quick disconnect connection somewhere along the power wire with it running directly to the battery? [editline]16th May 2011[/editline] I'm using an In-line fuse for the accessory-to-battery connection as well.
The tires I put on the front after I got a flat yesterday were too big so they rubbed when I turned the wheel, so I swapped them to the back. However my brake pads have a lot of life left, and my rotors look good, so I guess it's my Drums that are squeaking? [editline]15th May 2011[/editline] I've got no idea how to service Brake Drums. :frown:
sigh, did nothing car related today, cars off the road for this week i guess My friends dad is a mechanic and he may do free work for me, which would be pretty schweet if he fixes my brakes for me :smith: [editline]15th May 2011[/editline]
The tires I put on the front after I got a flat yesterday were too big so they rubbed when I turned the wheel, so I swapped them to the back. Oh, and I got a largish cloud of blue smoke this morning when I started my car to get it out of the driveway. :tinfoil: I'm gonna need a new car soon.

That's a shit load of cables and wires. [editline]15th May 2011[/editline] God damn snakes nest.
I have that same tester. What did it read?
