I mount them in the center with a 3 gauge pod, it plugs in where the clock used to be

That's a very clean setup.
not my pic btw
yo bradley, apparently your turbo shit should be there like monday
Cool, I actually JUST got on here to PM and ask if it was in the mail. Thanks, Lemon.
i want to see a 12 second pass lol
You might. The T3 might be going on something a bit larger than a Civic. Jap's going to be using my big 16G I think, and I'm looking into another project. I'll certainly let everyone know when I get something.
[editline]9th July 2011[/editline]
Also lol, speaking of turbo I saw [url=http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/2465940647.html]my old Turbo CRX on craigslist[/url]. That guy's been trying to get rid of it, but 2k is too much. The car needs a MPFI swap and new seats at least, and a better paintjob.

time to blind ricers
They're so bright. They drown out his HID's and highbeams. DEM HELLAS
This next tuesday i am going to try and get my hands on a radiator pressure tester, if the system fails I'm going to check all of the hoses and clamps, and replace the radiator cap. If that doesn't fix my issues, I'm going to tear into the water pump assembly and check out the thermostat, and replace it. If THAT doesn't fix it, I'll look into the sensors. Something aint right somewhere, I'll find it eventually. Hopefully before i drive cross-country to a tech school of my choice later on in the year (if all goes well), Although i don't think it will be so hard that i can't trace it in 6 months. We'll see.
[editline]10th July 2011[/editline]
Well it's not exactly impressive, but i replaced some clips that hold the inside door handle/armrest in place and put some new screws on it because it snapped off the door as i was leaning on it. Screws were too small to fit inside the clips and the threads just slipped, got bigger screws to hold it that were actually made for the clips.
Paid my buddy to replace the Fuel pump and brake calipers on my van, it now runs. :v:
but does it stop
The Fuel pump was an In tank fuel pump so it took him most of the day.
[editline]10th July 2011[/editline]
It stops too. Paid him $40 for all the work.
Fixed my cruise control today. I took off the whole passenger side glove compartment just to get to the module. Had to resoilder some connection's that were bad. Thin took a test drive.
Reminder make sure to not leave cruise control on or else the module will heat up and fuck up my soldering.
whats the point of cruise control if you cant use it for any amount of time
Well I meant leaving it on 24/7. Ohh how much I hate you VW part's.
I have the switch for Cruise Control, and i have the panel that pops out where the knob pops in, as well as the plug for it behind the panel, but will it work if i just plug it in? Or do i need to get a module at the other end of that plug? hopefully that makes sense, i can always grab pics if i need to.
[editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
It looks almost as if the car didn't come with cruise, but it has the plug for it, and he just picked up the knob that plugs into it at a junkyard. It's a Base 2+2, so I'm not sure if it came with cruise honestly. But like i said, without sounding like I'm repeating myself, the plug for it is right there. Also, my windshield wipers only work when i have them on the medium setting, not fast, not slow, and not delay. Is that switch bad, or is it some connections in the plug for the switch? I don't want to tear into the cluster panel to find this stuff out and end up making it not work at all, we got a bad monsoon rain yesterday and it was hard to see with that one setting. I don't want to lose it alltogether.
Sorry for rambling on, Just woke up and wanted to make sure i got the message across.
[editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
My horn doesn't work either but i think that's just a loose connection at the horn itself. Only thing is i can't find it. I looked for hours and can't find the damn thing at all. But when i jiggle fuses and wires it works. Till i drive again and it knocks itself loose. Could also be a short somewhere, but like i said.
I cleaned the volvo inside and took out the subwoofer and headunit bracket and all that so now it's ready for sale :>
nobody has called about it yet though :c
I feel like a mechanic now :3 Car wouldn't start, cranking over like crazy, but no ignition. Got right under the hood and started fucking with shit, diagnosed and traced it to a plug that somehow came undone and had one if it's contacts bent, rebent and plugged it in, fired right up. funny how a plug the size of a nickel can cripple a whole engine. I'll have to remember that >:W
Hey justin, what is this car of yours? I may be able to help somehow, like how your wipers are acting strange.
[editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
Well, I did some research and found that, for your wipers, it very well could be a relay in the switch. There's also a "wiggle the key" trick if they stop when the car is running/on.
If your car has cruise control, there should be a cruise control module connected to your throttle cable and should have some wires and/or a vacuum line connected to it. I wouldn't recommend plugging in a switch with no known end on it as you could burn something out by chance.
Got some parts from the best guy ever, Lemon Lover.

It's a TB03 or TB0344, pretty sure it's the former due to the huge cold side. Here's the cold side compared to a MHI Big 16G, it's quite a bit larger but the actual inlet is damn near the same.

Hot sides are... Pretty identical, Garrett's a tad bit smaller but I think this will make for quicker spooling but less CFMs due to the smaller cold side.

Also he gave me this downpipe with flapper, so all I need is an actuator! I was under the impression I'd have to get a whole new internal wastegate kit with flapper and all, an actuator is much cheaper. It'll save me a lot of money!

I think I'll order new bearings and such when I get some money. Jap's supposed to be buying my 16G, so I'll get them with what he pays me on top of this (He was supposed to pay a couple weeks rent but I am making a bit of money so I was able to cover it, so I think we'll make some sort of cash deal)
What's a good price on a nice Big 16G anyways? I'm thinking around ~$150. It's got zero shaft play, I believe it's been rebuilt not too long ago, it's very clean.
Also video of outrageous shaft play on the Garrett:

Glad you got it okay. Hopefully I didn't take too long to ship lol.
So does it look good and what you expected?
Also, sorry about the sheared bolts. :/
That downpipe was so rusted on thats the only way i could get it off to mock it up on my top mount manifold.
It's alright, machine shop is going to charge me something around 40-50 bucks to drill and re-tap the holes. I pulled the whole thing apart, but how do you pop the nut off of the shaft?
The bearings are worn, thrust bearing is good (No forward/backward play) but the shaft bearings are shot. Was going to order a set and slap them in but I have to get it apart to see if they are standard Garrett T3 bearings. And, well, to put the new bearings in.
I'm happy with everything, I thought I'd need to buy a new IWG kit or EWG but this one just needs an actuator, and those are cheap. Probably order an adjustable one.
[editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
Also I almost threw away the oil drain line, haha. Didn't realise it was in the bottom of the box, gave the box a good shake and heard it. :3
just helped my friend buy this

My mk4 GTI got a pretty good spanking from an older Infiniti SUV. Amongst the taillight shards, I noticed this little guy. I have no idea what it is, and I'm wondering if it could have been from either vehicle. It's filled with some sort of sandy cement and weighs about what it says - 2.5lbs. Didn't know where else to post.
[quote][img]http://i.imgur.com/8E7kI.jpg[/img][/quote]
lol whats so mysterious
it's a weight
you know
for lifting?
I think the thing that's mysterious is why it ended up in the middle of the road right at the scene of his rear end collision amongst the broken car parts
[editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
I'd be curious too O.o
Turbo hotside has a crack in the wastegate hole :C
Guess I'll check with the machine shop and see what they'll charge to fix it, I'm not certain how bad the two cracks are yet, look to be about a half inch long each.

Could be to weigh the bumper down so it doesn't flap in the wind. Or maybe a weight lifting cat used to live in your bumper.
hey guis
