Mind fucking blown

Although to be honest, the D16V1 is a D17A2 with a short crank. It's still in the same ~D17 block group.

How do you mean mind blown? :o
I'm also hella jelly of you guys with a garage...I got my driveway...shit sucks
Unless I go to my uncles...then I have pretty much a full shop
Trust me, it's a D16, for starters it has it's 1.6 badge on the back of the car, and yes I have seen the engine stamp, it's on the front and to the left of the block. It's a D16V1, it's not the most common D series engine and it doesn't even seem to be on the list of D series engines on wikipedia :o

I blurred out the serial number (or whatever it is) because I've heard too much about forgeries on documents and nasty nasty people :tinfoil:
Well that is interesting. I didn't know they made an EP Civic with an d16. Neato.

What engine do they put into the EP2 in the states? They also do an EP1 here which has a D14 in, and an EP4 which is a diesel :o
ownt
ownt
Huh?
dude wat
I know about the D14 (EP1) and the Diesel (EP4), it's just the D16V1 that isn't really talked about anywhere. And that's because it's a D17A2 with a short crank and nobody uses them.
We don't have EP1/EP2 in the states, just the EP3, and here, the EP3 is the Civic Si, where in your country the EP3 is the Si. The EP4 is the only Diesel Civic and it's only available in your area, not even in Japan IIRC. The main reason for the mass of engines in the hatchback Civic over in the UK is because they were built there.
Anyways, today I filled the rad up on the Cutlass and moved it over away from the tree. I also found ONE rear spring for it. Annoying, the set should have been laying there, but one is missing. I also hooked up all the fuel lines and whatnot, need to put some fuel in the tank and get a battery and some tranny fluid, and it should be good to go.
Fiddled with the engine until I realized I need the head gasket replaced.
Painted my passenger side door...tomorrow hopefully my driver side door
On a related note...the glue shit thats used to attach trim and such is fucking evil to remove

Brake cleaner or razor blades should work. I don't know if the brake clean would damage paint or not but it gets all the sticky crap off easily.
Today I cleaned the crank for the 383, was all worked up to get it installed only to find that it didn't come with proper bearings. Going in tomorrow to get varsol, a oil pan, bearings, and piston rings.

Well its had 20 years to set so even with a shit load of brake cleaner its still quite a bitch of a task
Where did you get these from? I've been looking for a set like this for my EP2 Civic, this is the style I'm after:
Modern synthetic oil is very expensive - so why run the risk of getting it dirty by running it through your motor block? KaleCoAuto bypass kit comes with everything you need to run the oil around your motor block where it will do more good. Oil runs cooler, and as a result, there may be horsepower gains!
This site is fucking hilarious
The weakest part of your car is the likely the radiator. It is a simple matter of physics when we tell you this: Energy is lost through heat. Transmissions, as they lose more and more heat, begin to cause more loss of power. However, that's only a small part - The worst part is the radiator! All sorts of heat is lost through the radiator - in essence - losing the horsepower through heat! Not anymore!! KaleCoAuto brings you the Radiator Insulatior - Simply slip over your radiator and enjoy the power! KaleCoAuto radiator insulation is made from only the finest asbestos, and is guaranteed to trap 90% more heat!

This is dedicated to the lady racer on the go! Featuring quick dispensing action, the Tampon Dispenser for Automatic Vehicles is the ideal match for any vehicle with an automatic transmission. The built in canister operates much like the clip of a gun, and has a capacity of 12. Extended clips may be purchased, depending on vehicle. Absolutely not for use with manual transmissions!
Rofl, I love your wagovan.
Also, I may be driving the Cutlass out of the woods tomorrow if all goes as planned. I lack a gallon of ATF and one tire. My rear springs should be here tomorrow.
Can't wait. Got the fuel line hooked up today, and got a battery given to me. It's flooding out, gotta adjust the carb better.

looks like one of those grungy old workshops that produce six-figure classic british cars
I yanked my olds out of the woods with the Ram Charger and now I've got it sitting behind the house, supposed to FINALLY have my rear springs in the morning. If so, going to bring gas home to put in the wrecker, lift her up, slap some springs under her, bolt up the driveshaft, and fill her full of tranny fluid.
I also need to figure out why it isn't always getting gas to the carb. I think it's picked up some trash on the sock in the tank, so I'll take and blow air through the line tomorrow and see if that improves it any. If so, I may try to run it near to out of gas, drop the tank, and clean it out.
