Put speedo cable and overflow tank in the Civic. About to drive it down to the store for the first time in a month.
I remember posting yesterday about how my center air vents would fall out of the dash and land on my stick shift every time i got on it; Just emptied half a bottle of super glue and it stays now :D New Rad Cap keeps it at a lower temp until it starts to get into triple digits later in the day and then it starts to heat right back up. Almost get's too hot to drive, I feel like my feet are being burnt. Need to get some heat insulation eventually. The A/C Can't keep up with the heat either so i end up sweating more than i do cooling off, but I'm fixing it up little by little. I'd like to find another 13b sometime and rebuild it off to the side once i get money; Tarbo and all. We'll see.
installed my new IC. Going from 4.6psi drop@ 68% efficiency to 0.6psi drop@ 78%efficiency blew a silicon coupler @ 15psi, I got scared from the black smoke coming outta mah car and suddenth stalling, fixed it on the side of the road. and blowed it again near my house, pushed it home, fixed it, raised the boost to 19psi, brakeboosting spin my tyres in second gear (285/35/18). FUCK YEAH

4.6psi drop, holy carp.
Rofl, for you: Best thing I've ever seen.

Hot!
bought the material and adhesive to re-do my headliner /vanity mirrors/door inserts and redid some fuckity wiring in the car (why is everyone so fascinated with running power wire to the fuse box of cars I just don't get it)
I didn't understand any of that. Did you break something?
He bought an intercooler, which allowed him to run at higher boost, and once he did he blew a silicone hose that connects part of his intake piping.
I'd rather run at 15 PSI with a 5 psi drop, than no psi at all :/ I surprisingly can't find much on turbo charging my rx-7 other than the stock turbo 2 version that came with one. I found one article in which the guy details everything he went through to do it, and man it seems like a lot of work. Everything from fabricating your own exhaust manifold to notching the frame to give room for the turbo and modifying half the intake manifold... [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] Probably the same shit anyone would have to go through to do it with any vehicle, for the most part, but still. It's my DD, don't know how I'm going to do it if i have to have it out of commission while i do it.

All you probably need is the exhaust manifold, exhaust piping, turbo ECU/injectors, and maybe shuffle some stuff around in your engine bay. I'll do some research, I did my first NA-T on an 80's Z, it's not as hard as it sounds.
Speaking of N/A to Turbo, Japfeiffer's turbocharger and oil lines came in today, and he got the intercooler and piping our friend Justin owed him as well. So he's going to have my shop install it all for him soon. Oh, and in other turbo news, on my own vehicles: It's for this: [t]http://atomic.uirpg.com/host/files/PICT0001.JPG[/t] I need to find a DSM side mount and I'm good to go. Gotta run to the hardware store and grab 4 allen headed bolts to countersink into the adapter for the turbo, and get some gaskets. After that it's ready to go on. Once Japfeiffer repays me by getting me some IC piping and another DSM BOV (or getting his own and giving mine back). I'm just going to boost at ~10PSI for now and run a PM6 until I can afford a PR4. Once I get the PR4 I'll likely change the block out anyways for something less used, I've got a Z6 block just asking to be boosted sitting out back. Would be boosted tomorrow if Japfeiffer wasn't taking my fucking BOV and piping. But meh. He's going to buy me some piping and give my BOV back on his next paycheck (Or, at least, he had better do that >:C) so it's all good. Guess I'll just install everything in two weeks. Fucking sigh. Not that you can't run a turbo on something not designed for turbo, I mean, if that was the case I'd have a few Hondas that exploded by nowish, but you really have to know what you are doing. And on a rotary, you're asking for problems by pushing boost through an already old engine that didn't come with the turbo model's apex seals or rotor housing. If you're going to boost, find a turbo wankell and drop the entire setup into your car. Better to do it right the first time than hope it'll work and flip a coin on a bunch of invested money.
More like, worked on it last weekend but I finally have time to post pictures. Borrowed my cousins shop and got the add a leaf underneath her. So far I love it. Gave me about another 1" in the rear, stiff as a board, yet somehow it made the ride softer. Didn't do a torsion twist up front in order to have a rake to it. Out looking for jobs now, next investments are Pro Comp es3000 shocks all around and a nice set of 31" all terrains. At 121K, it's making a little worried, but nothing a little care can't fix. But... here are some pictures. Cousin had to cut and use the air-chisel in order to get the center pins out. It was a bitch. Horrible angle but here's it after: And here's his buddies F-350. The owner's exact words were, "Gotta compensate for the little things, you know?"
Bought some lowering springs, not planning on having my car for longer than another year and I can't afford new coilovers so springs it is [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline]

Christ, is this yours? Details! Double post fail

I used this tutorial: http://redz31.net/pages/turbo.html And the help of some knowledgeable Z31 guys I knew around town. Go on z31performance.com, everyone there who has done a NA-T followed that tutorial and have had no issues running stock boost, the VG30ET had the same internals as the VG30.
Installed my injectors(FUCK), and got my car tuned, clutch was slipping so the car was held back, lots of potential left even without e85. 20psi is still fun though

That's true, but i want to turbo charge it, not just rebuild it and call it good.

Explain how, with entirely identical internals, the early VG30ET had 7.8:1 compression and the later one had 8.3:1? You can run stock boost all day long on a on-turbo VG30E, It's only 4-5 PSI and 7PSI at peak. You can run that much boost on pretty much any stock engine and it will run forever, that's seriously weak boost. You're probably going to make another ~35hp at those kinds of boost levels on a stock engine, anyways. And as Justin said, rotary is different. That's a whole new playing field, without stronger apex seals or the improved Turbo model housing, his engine probably wouldn't take more than 5 PSI, and I'd be sirprised if it lasted more than a few months like that, since it's a fairly well used engine in the first place. Turbocharging can be a plug and play process, that doesn't always make it worth it or efficient, or in some cases, safe.
9mm/10mm too small/too big 5/16ths 3/8ths too small/too big wtf wtf wtf its all these little things that make life hard
That's true, but i want to turbo charge it, not just rebuild it and call it good.
When you're tearing the guts out, you might as well swap in the Turbo guts.

Did I mention that I own an auto shop now? Yeah.
can i have a job move your shop to delaware
well I actually need someone to handle tires, mounting and such move your ass to oklahoma
well I actually need someone to handle tires, mounting and such move your ass to oklahoma
Which is worse... Pennsylvania or Lolklahoma Fuck. Handling tires sounds more fun than cashiering. :v:
It is. I mean, not the funnest job in the shop, but it's easy. And Oklahoma is better... No emissions laws, no inspection. To tag a car, you have to insure it and then go to the DMV and tag it. You can then legally drive it wherever the fuck you want. Dat state laws
