I can handle rust, but this car is pretty bad. It's just going to be his beat-around, his first car, until he can get something better or afford to completely replace the floorpans and quarters. And rockers. And some bits of the frame.
That's why I sold my car, except it wasn't a 300zx, it was a POS Dodge 'Nasty. Rust and Rusty holes everywhere. If I crawled underneath, I could pull out chunks of the carpet through the floor.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN WE ARE NOT GOOD WITH CAR
>friends dad recently got a built evo
>had shitty tune
>does 1-3 pull with tuner in the car who was going to redo the tune within days
>car shuts off mid third
>pull car home, see coolant in 3 out of 4 chambers, 2nd was dry
>decide it's headgasket
>go to set TDC, cam wont turn, try it at crank pulley, wont budge
>pull head, come to find out cyl. #2 is dry due to the piston thats (exaggerating a bit) sideways in the cylinder and 2 cracks in the block
apparently the tune was so shitty that it lifted the head (all ARP hardware) and dumped coolant in the cylinder and hydrolocked it.
soooooo, now he's most likely going to go 2.4L stroker, with something like an 800awhp goal
[editline]23rd October 2011[/editline]
whered my bro with the talon go?
Woah, Lemon, you aren't dead!
You're never on steam anymore. What gives?
never on my computer anymore
usually out doing car stuff or doing stuff with car people
weekend before last or something i was out pretty much every night of the weekend street drifting or hanging at the shop.
hopefully my coupe will get wired this week, not sure though because the person who's supposed to wire it it the guy with the evo so he might be working on that.
once that gets running i can go hard on the hatch to get to my 600whp goal
Changing tires right now and posting this while I take a small break:

Kinda looks much better with huge winter tires :v:
Looks more rugged.
I might be able to use this Jeep full-time by the weekend if I'm lucky :>
W.I.P., once i finish fucking with some cracking bondo that the other dude screwed up I'll paint the rest of it:

[editline]24th October 2011[/editline]
I wanted to paint it white but the black i had available was free and plentiful, so why not.
Looks very sexy but I think you should replace that side blinker with a white one

In other news:
Black Jeep does not leak coolant anymore so I can finally use it :D
However the exhaust manifold gasket is leaking but that's no biggie for now
Satin black car bros

Also today I pulled a 454 out of a '79 Chevy Custom Deluxe to drop down in the '67 Camaro sitting in my shop.

looks better now o_o
Oookay black Jeep still leaks coolant but it's just a small fraction of what it did so it's gonna be my primary car from now on. Gonna live with the small leak until an original hose ordered from USA comes in the mail :v:
Bradley, squeeze the 454 into the back of the Civic.

Nope nope nope.
It was just letting some coolant out of the top because I filled it up too much so it isn't leaking at all actually.
Today I stripped down a 454 big block from a complete engine to a basic longblock. Tomorrow I'm tearing down the front to put in the timing gear drive, the top to put on Brodix intake and Holley HP carb. And the bottom to put in an oil pump and rear main seal before final installation in the '67.
I also boxed up a Crankshaft to ship out to d16y8guy from DSO. It's a D16Z6 crank that came out of a block that had a bad piston in it.

Painted the rims on my T-Bird black and did some engine work (Fixed a supercharger leak). Tomorrow I'm going to re-do the exhaust (True dual, magnaflow mufflers, no cats, no resonators) and lower the car ~1.5".
I don't understand car bras they look horrid
They are supposed to prevent the car paint from getting screwed up by rocks and bugs but guess what? All it does is make the car look fucking ugly anyways and furthermore, still ruins the paint anyways because of the friction inbetween them. Stupid idea to whoever thought they would be a good invention.

There's no friction. Find me one incident of that happening.
Simple case of different strokes for different folks.
Oh i don't know...Maybe when it moves around when you're going 70 on the highway because of the wind? If a metal fucking antenna moves in the wind I'm sure some fabric pulled tight across the front of a vehicle is going to as well...How could you possibly think it wouldn't?
[editline]26th October 2011[/editline]
Find me one incident in which a hood bra actually looks good on a vehicle.
Find me one incident in which a hood bra actually looks good on a vehicle.
Pretty much anything that's fast and not Japanese.
It looks good on my vehicle.
Except it kinda doesn't...That's like saying "My fedora looks good on ME though!"
Especially when it's not actually pulled taut and is just kinda laid on there, all wrinkly and folded and shit.
I'm really not trying to start an argument with you here but really, hood bras are disgusting...That's all there is to it
I'm really not trying to start an argument with you here but really, hood bras are disgusting...That's all there is to it
There's a lot of people who would disagree.
As I said, different strokes for different folks.
There's no friction. Find me one incident of that happening.

It will always move a little bit when hit by a rock and that movement creates the friction and will eventually damage the paint pretty badly
I've never had the paint in that area damaged from rocks anyways. It's always the headlights or windshields.
They're completely useless on modern cars since paint and all the things that go with it resist scratches.
what's the point of protecting the paint if you're never going to show it

ignore the IE and XP vanilla, I'm using an 11 year old laptop and tethering off of an android phone right now, at my shop. :smith:
