By "adjusted" I assume you mean pulled/bashed the tooth off of the ratchet wheel so it doesn't grab? I can't do that, I use mine as a parking brake.
My mom uses hers as a parking brake even though She has an Auto.
some cars have nasty gear lash in park, i'd rather the handbrake take the brunt
My aunt forces us to park the older civic with the parking brake on only its on a flat surface and it makes the brakes stick since its only driven every couple of weeks
by adjusted I meant looked at it for 5 minutes.
My mom uses hers as a parking brake even though She has an Auto.
In extreme cases you risk sheering the parking pin in the transmission if you don't use the parking break.
What if you're like moving when you engage park? Parking pins are made to withstand the weight of the car on a 30-45 degree slope. If you're parking on a surface with more slope than that you really shouldn't be anyways.
Flat parking lot in an apartment complex.
If you have an e-brake it makes no sense to me to NOT use it when parked. It's not hurting the rotors or calipers and it prevents unnecessary stress on the transmission.
except for when the brakes stick c:
How is using the transmission like it's designed to be used causing "unnecessary stress"? If anything putting the parking brake on in an automatic is (other than redundant) likely to cause someone to forget it's on and thus try and move the car with it on, I do this sometimes even in my car which is manual. This isn't good for the brakes and is causing far more damage than leaving your car in park EVER will. I mean, I'm not saying don't use the emergency brake in an automatic, do what you want. But it's going to make you look a bit like a tard who doesn't know how things work.
doing my "adbot" once again. made a shopping list of small Item I need for the 7mgte but that are only avaiable for high price at the stealership. Turned out that driftmotion have a bunch of those and I will end up buying from them and purchasing a softline kit for the oil line of my turbo. 149$ ain't bad, what do you think: http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-ct26oilsoftlinekit.php The purpose is to replace the ugly and huge solid steel line for the return, that is in the way when I'm trying to wrench on the car
Looks identical to ebay lines, fittings and all. Not saying that's a bad thing, the ebay lines I ran worked fine on both turbo CRXs I've had. But getting them on ebay would be a cheaper route. The only difference I see is the two flanges, they look odd. Special made for the return line? If so, that's probably going to be the way to go instead, since you'll need a specific setup. Just make sure it's legit!

Sorry, I missed that part of the conversation. :/ In other news, installed a set of hood pins: Stock hood latches made the hood line up too far to the right, I ground them down and readjusted multiple times. Couldn't get it quite where I wanted, but now the hood lines up perfectly.
I'm talking about using it on a manual transmission, not an auto. Sorry, I missed that part of the conversation. :/
No worries bro. Yeah, as far as manual transmission cars, parking brake should ALWAYS be used. I've seen too many cars roll off due to being parked in-gear and their owners thinking "That'll hold it." In other news, I'll be picking something up tomorrow. [t]http://atomic.uirpg.com/files/IMG_20120106_115709.jpg[/t] !?!?

Also, anything with Driftmotion is legit, they have a great customer service and have a reputation in supra-related parts. Aaron even did the upgrade on my turbo. I'll risk it. I'm so tired of being stuck with the humongeous oem return line
Well it's not a bad deal on it. For the (what appears to be) custom flanges that I assume you need specifically for your turbo setup, it's the right price. Go for it man. Let me know how it works out!

Good guess.
66 or 67, doubt it's a 65 as they are pretty rare. What engine, 318?
66 or 67, doubt it's a 65 as they are pretty rare. What engine, 318?
Not even close -- It's a '70. It's a 318 with a 727 torqueflite, supposed to have been driven around by the guy's family, guy has been trying to get it off of him and he doesn't want this other guy to have it so we pretty much got it for nothing. It's a bitch wagon. [t]http://atomic.uirpg.com/files/IMG_20120106_115436.jpg[/t] [t]http://atomic.uirpg.com/files/IMG_20120106_122031.jpg[/t]
What are you going to do with it? Looking around my a house we have a whole bunch of rims, about 3 or 4 bare 440 blocks, 1 1966 hemi block and 1 clean bare 454 block. I'm thinking of cleaning up the 426 and selling it for about $1500, maybe one of the 440s for $500.
It's my dad's, I think he's just going to scrap it. No idea. If it was mine I'd fix the one quarter that is punched in and drive it. Fuck it, I'd drive it like that.
Washed all the salt off of my car today, that's about it. Tomorrow, I'm putting new inner tie rods and LCA bushings in. Also, debating on trading GSR Fat-5's with no tires and $100 for 89 Si wheels with barely used Yokohama Avid ENVigor's and a carbon fiber hood. Seems like a deal to me, haha. Just not too sure how they'd look on an EG hatch...
Been working on my Impreza. Lots of sanding, filling in holes, no painting yet though. Might have do find some way to glue my rear bumper to the body. I have rust where it used to bolt to the body, so it doesn't hold anymore. Doesn't help that the ass in the tC rear-ended me over a year ago now and screwed up everything back there. Here's a tip; Don't put bedliner on your car in visible areas if you ever might repaint it again. Bedliner is a bitch to sand, and most people say to use chemicals to strip it off. I should have read up before I put it on.
bedliner everything there is no turning back and fuck the bumper, make a mold and fill that with fucking bedliner and then bedline that shit onto the back of the car
why did you spray bedliner on your car in the first place.
It was a pretty great idea at the time. I wanted the bottom of my car to be black, and wanted it to look somewhat decent. I knew flat black would look like crap, and I knew that bedliner sprays on nice and uniform and looks good. It looked pretty amazing for a while, but as soon as I got it dirty it looked like crap and I couldn't get it to clean. I ended up having to scrub the stuff to get it somewhat clean.
Could've used plasti-dip too :v:
