at the very least take the wheel you just removed and slide it under the car, the rim can handle the weight if the car collapses and prevent stupid people from killing themselves
Did you just call Hell Strike's friend's dad stupid because he died in an accident?
Did you just call Hell Strike's friend's dad stupid because he died in an accident?
was talking in general, otherwise i would have quoted him
probably a good thing, seeing as you were about to spend a couple hours sitting in your wheel well with nothing supporting your car but that shitty little jack. and please tell me that that's a breaker bar, because if you were using a ratchet to remove your lugs you're seriously an idiot not to mention you put the car in the air before trying to break them loose? even if your e-brake is on you're going to be rocking the car as you attempt to loosen your lugs, and when it's sitting on nothing but a tinyass jack like that it's a crushed foot waiting to happen
It's a 150ft/lb torque wrench. I tried to undo them on the ground with the car's tire iron, 3/5 lugs broke loose. Figured weight of car wouldn't let other 2 out since they're lug studs. Lifted, tried, no dice. (picture taken) dropped again, tried with torque wrench, snapped reducer. (pic taken) You're jelly of my totally sweet jack. And I never have any part of my body under the car while it's only on a jack (especially the oem scissor jack) Took it to a tire shop to see if they can break the studs loose with an impact gun, those 2 wouldn't come out. Dude told me whoever mounted the wheels last time over torqued them and hopped a thread and we need to break them off. Cool. Ordered some studs, now I wait.
past week-end, I retorqued the head on my 89' supra turbo.
lol 7mgte [editline]25th February 2011[/editline]
probably a good thing, seeing as you were about to spend a couple hours sitting in your wheel well with nothing supporting your car but that shitty little jack. and please tell me that that's a breaker bar, because if you were using a ratchet to remove your lugs you're seriously an idiot not to mention you put the car in the air before trying to break them loose? even if your e-brake is on you're going to be rocking the car as you attempt to loosen your lugs, and when it's sitting on nothing but a tinyass jack like that it's a crushed foot waiting to happen
shutup

My school has a drag racing team, was my job too take off the right rear tire of our Cuda and find where there were holes, patch them, and put it all back together. The guy I was working with ended up tearing the bead, so had to repair that, however by the end of it we were told that our teacher decided to just buy a new wheel.
While Ed dicked around with his swaybar I did this

[img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/623593/2-24-1011-015.jpg[/img_thumb]
i reused mine :D [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3702776/Photo%20Dump/sways.jpg[/img_thumb] the car rotates so much easier now, it's like a brand new car and it's only on the softest setting was getting really sick of the front end plowing, body roll and on power-on squat feels halved if not more, my front tires no longer light up like they used when I'd come out of slow corners the initial turn-in is a bit numb feeling so I still want a front swaybar though
front and rear corner spats fitted
changed Axle cover (left and right), Put on positive pole cover of the battery, Changed tires, replaced back window wipers Thank you germany for having so hard rules on cars
Put a set of low profile 17s on my CRX yesterday, to get rid of the steelies. On the coilovers, it doesn't sit too high and doesn't rub, I'm pleased. Also brought my gear ratio closer to a mid-range... It's like dead center between the VX hatch I drove and the way it was before. Not too much kick in the ass at launch, plenty of extra top end. Cruising on the highway is no longer an annoying BWAAAAAAAAAH, but now a soothing HMMMMMMM.
We need a Florida autocross rideout thing, somewhere near seabring since it's like in the middle of all of us Me and mike will ditch and go to rallycross tho Also omg I fucken love my swaybar
