we met in the summer of last year just before i moved to new mexico for a few months to live with my brother and join the air force when we decided to start dating, and after four months i came back to spend two months with her before i had to leave again for basic training. not much communication for the two months in basic, and then it was four more months before she flew down.

two months without communication is harsh.. i don't think i'd be able to handle not talking to the other person at all for that long

I had a similar problem with a bipolar girl, she was very flip floppy and emotional like this. I just didn't bother.
Im so thankful my girlfriend is fine in the mental department. We've never argued, she's flat out told me what I need to fix about myself (I'm usually really hard on myself and she had a conversation with me telling me to not be hard on myself with all sorts of neat feeling-sharing), and the only time she's ever gotten "mad" at me is when I indirectly said that her sport (horseback riding) didn't require athleticism and she wasn't even that mad at me.
