I don't mind people who like to draw anime characters, they're fine (my sister loves drawing, especially anime, and she's fantastic at it. Thank god she's not an anime nut though :v:). The people I can't stand are the ones who devote their lives to anything and everything anime. It drives me up the wall. They let it take over their lives and everything they do is an exact mimic of the anime shows they watch, from the way they act in real life, to the facial gestures they pull. Blargh. Facebook profile full of anime pictures, with a profile picture of an anime character? Yikes.
I learnt one lesson during highschool: whatever I do, I should not start a conversation with them, because they'll go on and on about stuff I don't understand, nor like, for hours on end.
However, people with an interest in anime don't bother me. It's just the people who are fanatics that drive me crazy (computer fanatics, anime fanatics, etc).
I couldn't phrase it any better sir. Fortunately my girlfriend is really mature about it, she accepts that I am not exactly a fan of that kind. She draws them really well, at least I think so. She also writes stories herself which are actually great. I just wish that I could share her feelings with her, like in many other things. But on this one I am simply not that keen.
so i discovered that i managed to skip two levels of math on the placement test i took last year, and not just one.. apparently i unknowingly passed the trigonometry part of the test. i don't know trig.
this is pretty awkward. i'll probably see how things pan out or get a tutor or something though, i've been able to understand most of what's going on so far, i've just been having to absorb a bit more information than everyone else in the class is.
How is that anyway related to Sex, Girlfriend or Shit? :v:

Have sex with trig. Two birds one stone.
I used to post here a lot when I broke up with my girlfriend, then when I realized how awesome most of the posters are in here, I just... stuck around. Now I post things unrelated to sex and girlfriends, but it's all good because the people in this thread are lovely human beings who don't mind too much! At least I hope you don't :v:

That's adorable
agreed. this and the love advice thread are the only places i really frequent on facepunch, all the regulars here are awesome.
I was just about to say I enjoying reading the two threads more than other parts of the site. I should try posting more.
SOH CAH TOA
Rant - Somone you hold close fighting cancer puts everything else into perspective. I.e. who gives a fuck about them petty problems.
this is the only chat thread i read frequently, and that's because almost all of the other ones are language threads. also because this one is usually hilarious to read
Yeah I mostly just follow everyone's stories, like some googly-eyed housewife who watches lots of reality TV.
This is a p. good thread.
Jumping on the bandwagon here, but it is a great thread, one of the few in GD that I follow without fail, even though this is my first post here because I usually deal with my sex (n/a), girlfriends (n/a) and shit (bingo) by myself. Also hi :v:
aaaaaa
i haven't told my dad that i'm moving out in december yet because my mom and i were going to talk to him about it together. he keeps asking me questions that i'm not sure how to answer, like about planning to visit family or something at the end of december, when i'll probably be off to texas before the 20th.

Tell him asap, he may feel pissed to be left in the dark about it.
my mom gets home from afghanistan in 2 weeks so we're going to talk to him about it when she's here. neither of us have any idea how he's going to react to it so i wanted her to be here. it's basically impossible for me to communicate with him myself because he's extremely emotional and illogical with his decisions, but my mom gets the final say in everything and she's okay with me moving out so whatever he says isn't going to have an impact on me leaving.
I went out with some mates to go see ted yesterday and after ended up buying loads of posters for our uni rooms. My buddy convinced me to get this one for the back of my door (sorry about the small image), I thought why the hell not:

I got home and told my sister what I'd got and she absolutely flipped the shit, saying that's what pervs buy and people will think I'm a total prick. I know she's over reacting but come on it's not that bad is it? I also got these as well as a back to the future poster because I couldn't resist (again, sorry about the size).

no that's pretty bad even by university standards
it makes you look like some frat boy who only drinks beer and oggles at victims.
that's not crescent fresh
Into the bin with that then.

you have horrible taste
I just broke up with my girlfriend that I really thought was the perfect one. I flipped open her computer one day to hop on IMDB and look for something that we could watch together having just moved into her apartment. And lo and behold, a chat conversation on Facebook pops up in my face. And it's my girlfriend. Chatting to my ex-girlfriend. Not just about anything, but they're talking crap about me. And my girlfriend was doing most of the craptalking. And it was very hurtful stuff, not simple things. She really devastated me and I broke up with her right there and then.
It sucks because I really loved her alot, and we had alot in common, same taste in music, films, art, just everything. I guess love is just a big ol' illusion.
you have horrible taste
I'd rather not look like a dumb ass?
wow what kind of person does that?
that's why they're your ex-girlfriends

That's what I asked myself aswell, who would do something like that? To someone that you love? She still bugs me. She tells me that she loves me and didn't mean anything and that she was just craving attention. Well, craving attention from MY freaking EX-girlfriend is the wrong way of getting it. I'm better off y'know.

Sorry but they're all freaking horrible, especially the first one. Makes you look like a class A douchebag.
Seeing my girlfriend next Friday for the first time since we moved in to our colleges two weeks ago. She is three hours away, and luckily her college lets opposite sex people sleep in their dorms so I am staying the whole weekend.
It sucks hard not seeing her, but I think this will help us appreciate our time together more. I plan on seeing her every 3 weeks which will coincide with our two year anniversary of dating in November.
Just wanted to say what has been on my mind all day, but it makes me happy as each day passes because it is one day closer to seeing her.

alright he already got it, the posters weren't the best choice and got rid of them
chill
Hope you have a fantastic weekend, buddy. Here's to hoping she hasn't got an annoying fucking roomate <3
so this has almost nothing to do with the thread (aside from the fact that i talked to my mom about moving out and she's cool with it so my plans to move in with the bf in december are just about set in stone at this point), but i've got a bit of a dilemma
what's the cheapest way of transporting a piano 1500 miles across the country? it's electric, weighs about 90 lbs total, and can be disassembled and fit into a box that is somewhere around 60"x30"x20" (guesstimating here). i'm going to be driving but i don't think i'd be able to fit the box in my car. all ups has told me is that i'd be better off buying another piano (and would apparently save enough money for a second one by not shipping from there).
so in spite of me not mentioning the subject at all, my bf just asked me "so what are we doing about pianos?" because he considers it his obligation to make sure i have a piano available when i move in with him.
he's a keeper
apparently if we aren't able to bring my piano on the drive, he might be able to take his sister's piano since she doesn't play anymore.
Like other people have mentioned, would it be difficult to strap it to your roof (considering you'll put it in a protective case or something)? How big is it? And how far is the drive? If I were you, I'd just go and buy a protective case (it'd be much cheaper than shipping it over) and if protective cases were too expensive, I'd just put it in a cardboard box with some polystyrene and strap it to the roof, but that's just me :v: I'd only put it in the cardboard box if the weather was safe and not lashing down with rain.
