A lot of things in psychology don't hold much credibility or aren't written in stone. It comes with the subject and how nobody knows how the mind works. Dreams can be irrelevant to our thoughts and feelings but they usually are highly associated with them in some way. Stress can also be a factor, but so can our subconscious thoughts, but like you said, dreams are a shady subject.
i mostly meant that it might not necessarily have to do with his relationship. however, his overall mood probably would have an impact on his dreams, and if he's constantly stressed for one reason or another it might cause unsettling recurring dreams.
i don't particularly agree with your first sentence. sleep and dreams are largely misunderstood, but most theories in modern psychology have scientific backing. freud's habit of making up explanations for thought processes without any real evidence has given the field a bad reputation, even though modern-day psychologists base their conclusions on scientific research.

Do you think girls in your area are easy to just come up and talk to? I've always perceived that american girls are easier and more open minded on that than europeans.

it pretty much depends where you are in america.

people in the state i'm from tend to be extremely rude and shut off to people they don't already know. in the state my mom's from and the state i'm moving to, everyone is always extremely friendly and outgoing.

this reminded me of the last night I spent with my girlfriend before I left for home: we were finally able to sleep together for the first time that week, and I had a dream that I'd left already and she was with some random, generic guy, and when I would try to get her back she ignored me. I woke up at about 6 in the morning teary eyed and remembered I was still in bed with her and man that was the BEST feeling in the world. All I could do with give her a kiss and cuddle up to her until we both woke up again.

Contrary to this, last night my girlfriend dreamed that I was giving "personal lessons" to another girl on League of Legends and this made her feel jealous. Quite possibly the funniest text I've ever had, she even had the quotation marks and all.

what are "europeans" excuse me??
as a european i can tell you that we don't really share anything in common besides economics. i find that American women are simply put, more American. a little bit louder, a little bit more talkative, and lacking european etiquette (duh).
my american friends perceive me as quiet and difficult, but that's simply because i'm british and that's our culture. german's act completely different, out-going but cold and scientific. the french are sarcastic and expressive (americans often perceive this as rude, even though the french have completely different ideas about rudeness), and itallians are often emotive and loud because enthusiasm is considered to be polite.
yes you have a point, I should have specified there. I'm going to move to Germany next month, and since it's university, I figured I should step my game up with talking to women in general, even if it means talking to random girls outside.
The thing is, some girls respond well when getting approached, while others tend to instantly panic and think we're going to rape her and tell her parents. And in Germany, I've heard it's more often the latter than the former. So I wanted to know how it was in the US, if girls were just more open to this kind of things or if they're actually not that different, because they've always seemed more into that kind of thing.
Maybe I just need to go out more often :(
Its the same everywhere, some girls are gonna respond positively, some negatively. I don't think where you're at makes that much of a difference.
europeans tend to follow etiquette more closely because it's drilled into our heads, especially germans.
germans keep it pretty formal even at university, they value personal space and soft-spokenness. if you approach people the way i see some americans approach others you'll probably terrorize people.
So I had a nightmare about one of my ex-girlfriends stabbing me in the brain with a butcher knife...
and it wasnt even the ex-fiancée...
What's up with that facepunch?

That seems really dreadful, but I'll try working with what I got. I heard that Munich was a good spot during the Oktoberfest, but I guess it's more because they're all drunk and stuff

i dunno i think this is really really entirely anecdotal. all of the americans i've ever met or overheard in places have been mega middle/upper-class tourists and they were frighteningly polite and pompous and scared of cussing/sexual language
edit: my girlfriend said the same thing. all of the americans she made friends with on cruises around the states were posh americans and they were aghast at the forwardness of her and her sister, especially the girls
I have (possibly) matured since my last visit to this thread and have been single for quite a while until I met someone and started seeing them all for 1 day when she turns around and says she still loves her boyfriend so we can't be together. Uhh okay. Karma?
Well I decided to hook up with someone else but she is weird as fuck sometimes and I don't know if she's nervous orrr... I dunno.
Look at this "I cant explain, its just when I look at you theres theese tingles i get.... Ad when we both look at eachother i reaaaally feel something"
Hmm.
"By what? Let me put it bluntly, if you were to (not on purpose though ) bite your lip? I would be wet"
Righto.
"I felt so many feelings when i saw your face."
Is it normal for me to be a little weirded out by this? She has liked me for about 2 months ever since I sat next to her in my friends car and smiled. She just wanted to snog my face off apparently?
Well I am meeting her tomorrow for a few hours and see how it goes but has anyone else actually gone through receiving compliments like this? Did you get weirded out by it? Is it a good idea meeting her :v:

To be honest, she might just be new to the whole relationship thing and might have trouble expressing herself. It appears that a lot of what she's saying is from the heart, but she doesn't actually know how to go about saying it in a sweet or charming way.
And the whole "If you bit your lip, I'd be wet", why are you weirded out by that? She's just a little bit forward, that isn't such a bad thing :v: The "when we look at each other, I get tingles" is just her saying she loves you.
I think you're just looking into things far too much. I used to be like that in my first relationship, I was really gawky. Everything I'd say would come out all jumbled and silly. Now? I'm an absolute charmer :smug:
You say you've matured a lot since you last visited, but it appears to me that you still have, perhaps, an immature perspective on relationships / love. Take it easy on the poor lass, she just has feelings for you, so instead of being weirded out, feel awesome! Because you've got someone who clearly has a big crush on you.
PS: I remember the first girl I had a crush on, I was absolutely head-over-heels crazy for her and I remember saying a whole bunch of stuff really nervously and having it all just spill out in a really weird way. I remember I'd beat myself up afterwards, unable to understand how I could so royally screw up saying something. If, after your date tomorrow, things go well and you can talk easily with each other and you feel comfortable with each other, don't give up on her. You'll see her gradually learn how to phrase things better when it comes to her emotions. On the plus side, having a girl wanting to snog your face off can't be that bad, can it? :v:
So she's pretty much shit at flirting? She had a bf before for 2 years or something which she broke up with about 5 months ago. Surely she wasn't like this with him?

in my experience being forward with your sexuality/actually pretty much anything besides how much you hate taxes will beat the average american over the age of 30 into an uproar

tap that
To be honest, nothing of what she said was really weird.
"I cant explain, its just when I look at you theres theese tingles i get.... Ad when we both look at eachother i reaaaally feel something"
"When I look at you, I get butterflies in my stomach. When we both look at each other, I feel it x10 stronger." She is basically just saying she really likes you (hooray for you).
"By what? Let me put it bluntly, if you were to (not on purpose though ) bite your lip? I would be wet"
There, she's just being a bit blunt, maybe she was hornier than usual on that day :v:
"I felt so many feelings when i saw your face."
And there, she's just gone about saying "When I see your face, it makes me feel happy and tingly and safe and a whole bunch of other good things" in a tactless way.
I think you're good, buddy. She doesn't seem weird, just a tad bit tactless when it comes to expressing her feelings about you in a cute way.
i dunno i think this is really really entirely anecdotal.
well take any cultural assumption with a grain of salt
there are always people who don't give a fuck about stupid social etiquette, just as there are people who give a lot of fucks about social etiquette
Is it strange that I don't get butterflies in my stomach anymore, unless I take my girlfriend out to a restaurant?

of course not. im p nervous at restaurants but thats because i see myself as a WHITE TRASH PLEBIAN who looks like such and that the people in fancy restaurants can smell my fear

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I guess you're around 17 or something, seeing as the girl you're dating was dating some other guy for 2 years.
