Yeah it is scary I dont think anyone can possibly be completely prepared. It really hit home when we were in a coffee shop minding her Nephew I was eating my food and she was trying to get him to drink his orange juice and I felt a pang of panic about the whole situation, about what I was getting into, but that was a couple of months in and from then I have just getting more and more used to the idea and im kinda looking forward to it, but its still scary. [editline]5th September 2012[/editline]
Can I be really nosy and ask what you guys do for a living? How will it affect your work? Where are you from?
I was in the middle of my Application for the Airforce (AVTEC) when this happened, but I am putting it off until after shes born then taking them both with me. This wasnt planned but thats life you never know whats going to happen. Oh and Australia and I work in retail currently (was my job during uni). Guess im going to be doing it for a bit longer.
Congratulations. Would you consider naming it Seith, as I am a robot incapable of having sex. I cannot precieve this thing you call "love". My programming says I must reproduce, so...
lol seriously? he announces his gf is *7 months* pregnant and you assume it's a bad thing? kind of rude to go "oh you're having a kid? your life must suck" congrats, zero
7-month abortions? is that even legal?
lol seriously? he announces his gf is *7 months* pregnant and you assume it's a bad thing? kind of rude to go "oh you're having a kid? your life must suck" congrats, zero
no... it was just a question, i just asked if he ever considered a abortion at very the beginning? why do you act like there's some kind of condescending reason behind it?
//
it was just a question. it's not like i was implying babies are totally horrible and should be gutted the second they come out of the womb.
Guy Mannly, read Lotus's post again. He didn't say "Are you getting an abortion". He asked if he ever considered it, which is a completely valid question. The guy is 22. Not everyone is ready for a child at 22, considering the amount of commitment that has to be given. [editline]5th September 2012[/editline] I don't really think it was rude asking, seeing as the guy said "Ask any questions you might have".
i had missed a post in the conversation. whoops
"are you having a boy or an abortion?"
So where do you live? I mean the kid needs a stable home in a perfect situation, don't tell me you still live with your parents or something awful like that :P But yeah 22 isn't a bad age to have kids, my friends mum had her at 22. It's a shame you lose so much of your freedom so quick but you sound prepared and mature about the whole thing so good on you. [editline]5th September 2012[/editline] Name it after me, I'm great [editline]5th September 2012[/editline] "Dan2593" is a great name for a girl or boy.
I dont consider the abortion questions offensive it is something that a lot of people discuss when something like this happens you cant really pretend that it doesnt exist, so the abortion question is valid. I am glad we didnt do it now as I said it grows on you. And dont worry shes going to have it very good our families have all had kids relatively young (not as teens or anything ridiculous) and it has worked out, everyone is happy. I also dont really think having a kid will restrict my "freedom" it all depends on you and your partner's outlook, we are both very positive people. Also thanks for the kind wishes I might post some photos of her here when shes born if you guys would be interested.
I'm glad you've got a supportive family. All the best buddy, from what you've written, you seem like you'll be a great dad.
at least she admitted she missed a pill (more likely 2), instead of insisting that she took it all correctly and it's the pill that doesn't work, giving it a bad name to anybody that knows you but all the best Zero! plenty of unexpected things happen in our lifetimes and though having a child is possibly one of the biggest life changers, you seem in a plenty good position to make it work. so good luck! and photos would be nice, but not when she's fresh out and all covered in blood and yuck please :v:
good luck zero
back to being single i set my personal record for shortest relationship, and probably the most intense as well haven't cried this hard in years, it sucks
What happened?
yeah seith rate him funny you jackass
yeah seith rate him funny you jackass
i'm sure he thought i was being sarcastic the whole thing involves a total of 2 years worth of history leading up to those 2 days, it's a crazy long story
Makes sense as to why it hit you so hard, then. I was confused at first as to why you'd cry over such a short relationship, but if it's been two years in the making, it's really understandable. Don't worry man, things get better <3 If there's one thing humans are good at, it's overcoming bereavement. Hope you start feeling better buddy.
Well i think my girlfriend wants to get back together but at a slow, concentrated pace. She texted me this "look I know it's a little soon but if possible I would still like to be friends, but I'm not gonna push anything" I text back "yea that'd be cool" and I get in reply "I understand if you don't wanna talk for a while but I don't want to rush this friendship if you need" In my mind this could mean a lot of things ( like the friend zone) but I'm hopeful she wants to get back together because I don't understand why she'd want to remain in contact 1 day after a break up so I'm just gonna lay low, not text her much(give her space), and hope she misses me and snaps back into girlfriend mode
Wishful thinking. My ex wanted to remain friends, but not because she wanted to take it slow and then fall in love with me again. She just enjoys my company, I make her laugh, she wanted to have our friendship remain the same. I don't personally think anything will come of it. I think she'll honestly just keep you as a friend. She probably really enjoys your company and feels it'd be a shame to lose a potential good friend. I'm only saying this because I don't want you doing what I did: waiting and hoping every day that she'll snap back to the woman who loved you. It has been so long and I'm still doing it to myself, and it really isn't nice. Just makes you feel like crap when they turn around and say something that honestly just shows that they are only thinking of you as a friend. My advice is to just go with the flow, if she starts talking to you often from here on out, talk back (if that's what you want). But don't be hoping that she'll snap back, because the chances are she won't. I'd say move on, it's better to move on earlier than to go through so much hurt and then realize you're not getting anywhere and then finally deciding to move on. It saves you a lot of heartache.
Thanks man I appreciate the advice which I believe is true
i'm sure he thought i was being sarcastic the whole thing involves a total of 2 years worth of history leading up to those 2 days, it's a crazy long story
sounds a bit like what im in. well sort of, the whole years before it happened thing. i can understand though, really sucks that it didnt work out man. but remember you always have us internet friends!
Thanks man I appreciate the advice which I believe is true
No worries buddy, that's what this thread is for. I've been given so much great advice here, so glad I can give something back. Anyways, best of luck. Hopefully whatever happens is for the best. You never know, the world is a funny place and anything can happen (but not unicorns. Unicorns don't happen and that sucks).
