Sadly, you are right.
To be honest, I tend to learn that a good deal of my female friends like me as more than just a friend, but she was someone I truly cared for and wanted to be with. I couldn't hurt her. I just cared too much.
I guess that's why they end up liking me. I'll be there with a shoulder and an arm for my friends. I'm the support of everyone, always willing to lend a hand and be their best friend.
