That is one of the most depressing comics ever... And I'm glad it's a fake...
Ah yes, Calvin and Hobbes. All reproductions in other media are illegal, as Watterson never syndicated his work. He felt that branching out into other media would dull the original work. I feel he's right. I found Garfield to be semi-awesome, but when that movie came out, I lost a lot of faith for the strip. It pisses me off that one of my neighbors has a "Calvin peeing" sticker on their SUV.

Anyone else notice how the extremely early strips have paw pads on Hobbes, but in the later ones they are removed?
It used to be cute, until our minds got poisoned by the internet (namely, /b/).
It still can be if people would stop making shit out of everything.
i never liked calvin and hobbes either. :frogc00l:
That is one of the most depressing comics ever...
You should meet ugly.
I didn't really appreciate Calvin either, but I'm pretty sure that's because I didn't grow up with it like most people. My loss
There's a book with some commentary by Watterson that I read ages ago, I vaguely remember him writing about how he found them distracting.
I have the same book! I am still looking for one that has every single C&H comic in it, though.
Calvin and Hobbes uses many "smart" words, i always learned something new from those series when i was a stupid kid.
One of the greatest comics ever. Perhaps not always funny, but never, ever dumb; always something clever. Buy a book or get one at the library. Srsly. Read these http://progressiveboink.com/archive/calvinhobbes.htm
I have almost every single Calvin and Hobbes book. Funny thing is I got all of them from thrift stores in new-perfect condition.

I did wonder what it was he was looking at.
I much prefer xkcd. It's more consistantly funny, and the jokes are always more worthwhile to understand.
I have most of them. I read them all the time when I was little. I'd like to think they had a great effect on my current sense of humor; dark, morbid, cynical.
Because it was goddamn quality compared to comics like Fuckfield
I have a bunch of Calvin and Hobbes collection books that I got at a yard sale. So good.
I do not like Calvin & Hobbes. I just never saw the appeal or humor in the comics.
The fifth one is my favorite.

[editline]11:20PM[/editline] This one, too
Here's fucking Fuckfield And here's fucking Calvin & Hobbes I'd prefer Calvin & Hobbes.
It's just a really likable cartoon that's all. Kind of like Peanuts... even though most of the time it's not laugh out loud funny, it's entertaining and it has morals most of the time. Oh man! Calvin and Hobbes! I think I might still have one of the giant books full of their little comics. I used to love to read it.
I really don't find it funny.
The humor is definitely for those of higher intelligence.

stop fucking posting this poor shop around. It's not the last strip! the last strip ended leaving it up to the viewers. the last line was "Let's go exploring" On topic: It's not so much about the humor, but the comic itself was inspirational. It was packed with double meanings and morals. He threw in the innocence of a 6 year old, and jammed his mind with an adults intellect. Which gave us calvin. A 6 year old shunned because of his lewd but intriguing personality. He knew things other 6 year olds didn't but still believed in silly 6 year old things. for those interested, this was Watterson's final hurrah with this strip: after years of battling syndicates, and illegal products with Calvin on them. He gave up but did all he could.

I have this... http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Calvin-Hobbes-v/dp/0740748475 ...in my closet right now. It's a tome of amazing.
This picture describes how awesome C&H is
I remember when FP got into a huge argument over the validity of that picture.
