I doubt you were a fan of his before the late 70s.
I'm Saying I Liked His Work Before The Jesus Train Ya Goof.
tbh he kinda sucks, way too overrated
I'm saying it literally.
Religion doesn't make him bad musically. You're just ignorant to think that.
What's this "was" stuff, last I checked Bob Dylan is still alive.

You're right :)
It just makes him bad generally.

One of my favourites of the 90s, brilliantly composed album.

This is an outtake from the Time Out of Mind album. When I first heard on the Tell Tale Signs: Bootleg Recordings album, my mind was blown. I suggest you give that album a listen too. The guitar work on it is amazing.
Funny story about how I got to listening to his music a lot more.
I decided to listen to his WORST album ever, which he didn't even want to release, and I found it so funny that I started to listen to a lot more of his stuff.
One aspect that I find interesting about his musical talent is that although some say he can't sing, he has one of the greatest voices.
So many people have mocked him for that opinion alone :v:
My favorite Bob Dylan song:

Favourite album?
How many roads must a man walk down,
Once upon a time you dressed so fine,
Early one mornin' the sun was shining,
Standing on the water casting your bred,
We live in a political world, love dont have any place,
I'm walkin, through the streets that are dead,
Every step of the way, we walked the line,
Oh well I love ya, pretty baby, you're the only love I've ever known.
Dylan thru times :v:
Cant wait for the bootleg recordings this year. Supposed to be some early ones there, the last one is absolutely superb.
Also it feels as if i'm the only Avid dylan fan :saddowns:
Just got The Times are A-changin fantastic album
I picked up Highway 61 Revisited yesterday.
I love it.
Figure it's a longshot, but does anyone know where I can find a instrumental version of Rainy Day Women from Blonde on Blonde?
He's coming to my hometown on Oct. 8. Just ordered my tickets today. Favorite album has to Highway 61 Revisited while my favorite song is Tangled Up in Blue.
I've been listing to Blonde on Blonde recently. Great album, "Stuck inside a mobile with the Memphis blues again" is genius
"Now the preacher looked so baffled
When I asked him why he dressed
With twenty pounds of headlines
Stapled to his chest"
Pure poetic genius

Apparently his newer shows are superb, even though his voice is croakier x10 :v:
Such a great guy to perform that many times a year.
Love and Theft.
Do not overlook this album. It is amazing, one of the greatest albums of the last 10 years. Masterpiece.
Should I go see him next month? I want to but I don't know if he still has it as a lot of the other baby boomers have lost their touch. But, it could be awesome.
I've seen a few videos of his newer shows.
To be completely honest, I recommend listening to his newest studio albums first. Basically all of his albums since Time Out Of Mind (not the christmas album, unless you have to :v:)
If you end up REALLY liking these albums... you will enjoy the shows a heck of a lot more.
I know I would :smug:
Yeah, I suppose I have a lot of catching up to do, I haven't really listened to much of his stuff after Blood On The Tracks actually although I know he has a lot of really good stuff since then. Any particular albums since then you can recommend other than the ones you just did?
Oh dear.....
You really do need to keep up. :froggonk:
Time Out of Mind. Love and Theft. Modern Times.
In that order.
Buy them all because they are all genius. His voice will surprise you a heck of a lot, and so will the music :3:
I listened to his newest album, Together Through Life, before I listened to Blood On The Tracks :v:
A bit late because Facepunch was in a server crisis, but:
I went to see Bob Dylan in my hometown and it was great. He kept up his tradition of changing the structure of his well-known songs and some took me a while to figure out. Near the end some jackasses were shouting "JUDAS!" between the songs and it annoyed the hell out of me. When I looked back to see who they were, I realized they were some of my classmates in my high-school guitar class and we just learned about Dylan and his experience at the '65 Newport Folk Festival. Of all the people who could sit behind me, I got the class ass-holes. They were screaming their heads off, too, which didn't make anything better.
Haha. I still don't completely understand the whole Judas incident.
But i thought the "I'm never listening to you music ever again" incident was better. Then Bob just says, "i dont believe you, you're a liar"

People from the folk clubs were pretty pissed off when Dylan started switching to the rock n' roll style, feeling forsaken by this voice of their generation when he began singing in the arguably increasingly mainstream style of music.
