^ Well, zombies are infected, right?
^ Well, zombies are infected, right?
Not really, zombies are people who have died and then came back to life. Infected are people who have come in contact with a virus or disease that got into their blood-stream.
They're close enough. They act like zombies, and despite technicality they are. Hell, if you wanted to be accurate, then lets call all zombies from just about every movie not. True zombies must be created through 'voodoo'.

Dawn of the Dead has always been my favorite Zombie Movie. Resident Evil being my favorite Zombie Series. Can't wait until Afterlife :D
Dawn of the Dead has always been my favorite Zombie Movie. Resident Evil being my favorite Zombie Series. Can't wait until Afterlife :D
Because this is totally an RE/Dawn of the Dead thread. Anyways, I love this series. Got both of them on my shelf.
Yeah, calling them "zombies" or "infected" in any movie is really up to your own personal opinion.
'Zombie' is a very loosely defined term, and has innumerable connotations, none of which really more accurate than another. The oldest literary depiction of 'zombies' as portrayed in contemporary media is in the epic of Gilgamesh (though I don't remember them having appeared in the actual story). Zombies are just decaying human bodies that in some manner or another retain locomotion in 'death' and have a desultory desire for flesh. (the desire could be planned by some evil mastermind though, that does happen.)
28 Days Later is my favourite zombie movie of all time, it's a masterpiece of the genre. Although it wasn't as good, I did enjoy 28 Weeks Later, mostly because of the bleak and dark atmosphere it had, although I hated how they fucking killed every single charater except for the children.
If you think about it. 28 seconds later would work. It would show the outbreak just starting with the activists running out the research base and into the city, causing shit to happen.
Very good movie. While I like Weeks, it was a totally different style and not as good. I bought the script of the first one and the graphic novel- top quality, real good.
Excellent movie. [sp]I hated the part where the dad gets zombied though:[/sp]
I love the scene when the girl's dad get zombified by a blood drop in the eye from a corpse stuck above him. That, and when they rush the supermarket. :v: [editline]11:16PM[/editline]
Excellent movie. I hated the part where the dad gets zombied though
As i said, one of the best scenes IMO
In 28 days later, they say that there were reports of New York and Paris being infected... Yet in 28 weeks later, Paris gets infected at the end of 28 weeks later...
In 28 days later, they say that there were reports of New York and Paris being infected... Yet in 28 weeks later, Paris gets infected at the end of 28 weeks later...
Reports can be sketchy and/or false. Another theory is that, like London, the military managed to 'clean' France during the same period of time they did in England.
Am I the only one who is annoyed by the fact that everyone calls them zombies? They aren't "zombies" they're infected. But none the less, it is still a great movie.
Infected = zombies. Important: Zombies do not exist. Therefore any definition of one is subject to creative license. You cannot really define what is not real. There's no use in arguing what is, and isn't a zombie. Because they can be either depending on what the creator wants them to be. The ZOMBIES in Left 4 Dead are also officially titled 'infected' but we all know they're zombies, and you all call them zombies. Don't bother arguing with this and quote the Zombie Survival Guide because that is also a piece of fiction and entertainment and is by no means a real guide and any notion to the contrary is retarded.
Such a great movie. I have yet to see 28 weeks later, but everybody I talk to say that it isn't as good.
In 28 days later, they say that there were reports of New York and Paris being infected... I just watched this. IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME.
I love both of them, 28 weeks later was more entertaining imo.
I thought it was like Left 4 Dead, there is a rare strain of rabies that goes out of control. Zombies are brain eating living dead.
I thought it was like Left 4 Dead, there is a rare strain of rabies that goes out of control. Zombies are brain eating living dead.
They sure sounded/looked/acted exactly like the l4d zombies
I love how Finnish people save the main characters at the end. And excellent music throughout the whole movie. The church scene and the military base scene are my favorite bits.
I really like this film but the ending is kinda meh, I just never really enjoy watching it.
The ending is the best. "Lähetätkö helikopterin" Finns save the day, even in movies ^^ (The jetpilot talks finnish into his radio, calling a chopper to rescue the main characters.)
Am I the only one who is annoyed by the fact that everyone calls them zombies? They aren't "zombies" they're infected. But none the less, it is still a great movie.
This is such a stupid argument, just let people call them whatever they want to call them.
I need to watch this movie again. Need to pick up a copy. Also wasn't there supposed to be a third movie?
Fun fact: They never closed any of the london streets they filmed on, instead they filmed the earliest time it was light, and had do things like scattering the big ben figures on the bridge and then pick them up before london "woke up"
But Sergeant Ferrell (sp? oh and avatar :v: ) says [sp]that the rest of the world is functioning just fine and that the UK is quarantined.[/sp]
Maybe so, but to be honest, how do we know, I think they retconned some stuff in 28 Weeks later.

I love the actual movie, but I didn't like their explanation of the 'infected'. They're just people with like super rage or something but why the hell aren't they taking it out on each other, and they'd never be in an idle or calm state, yet you see loads of em just standing around.
This film is so good, 28 Weeks later is pretty good too. Looking forward to 28months later http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1322885/ IMDBPro only right now though, has a release date of 2011
