I'm just a bit miffed because it was the first time in a while that it looked like we could have made the semi finals. Italy deserved the win, but england played brilliantly. Well, roll on the world cup!
were you watching a different game from everyone else? that was the worst england have played in the whole tournament, and they've not played that well overall

I saw a match in which england had plenty of chances one that was only kept out by buffons lightning fast reactions, and a couple of chances early on in the second half, one which i had no idea how it didn't go in. Yes italy had their chances and where dominating towards the end but england played a decent match of football against a team that won the world cup 4 years ago, and it was hardly their worst.

England had 4 attempts on target in 2 hours of football. How that is the product of a team playing well is beyond me.

Well, It was the most fluid and together match i have seen them play, for once i saw a team which i felt could get through to the semi's. And As i said, italy where one of the favorites, and have won the world cup 2006 so they where always going to play better.

yeah, they also failed to progress out of the group stages in 2010 where they didn't win a single game. so by your logic, England should have played the better football.
I only caught around twenty minutes of it, but from what I saw, Italy well and truly deserved to win, although I'm guessing it would've been more satisfying for them to win during the game rather than in penalties at the end. Kinda sucks that England are out, but we played terribly and Italy definitely deserved it more than our players.
Although I did make a short video expressing my views on England losing and being kicked out of the running;

Son are you playing Counter-Strike on a console?
So disappointed England didn't win, I would have enjoyed to watch them against Germany.
It pisses me off so much when they start off really well and then for no explained reason can't keep the ball for 10 fucking seconds in the second half.
Although credit to the fact that what little opportunities they got, they came very nearly to scoring quite a few times. Italy deserved to win though, but I can't let go of the fact that England still could have snatched it.

you always seem so critical of england, i admit that we were dominated, but under roy, in 6 games no one has beaten us in regulation time, and 2 of those fixtures were france and italy, you told me that before the start of the tournament, I'd be happy, we got a couple youngsters who got great experience (welbeck and The Ox) I feel its gonna be a while before england put a competetive performance in for a international cup, but you make every england game out to be just all round dreadful, when there is positives we can take from all 4 games
woo buffon

also as it is all ways said, it's how you take your chances, may be the most boring football in the world, but teams like chelsea perfected it to the very inch, if you go into the game underdogs, defend solidly (which i admit england weren't too good at last night) then take any chance you get.
Italy's finishing was some of the worst i have ever seen last night, do they desrve to win if they can't convert any of their great chances, im sure even england could of scored a couple of them.
for the record, england were not very good last night, very lucky the italians couldn't score, but if we had taken a goal and gone through, i wouldn't of called it a bad victory, we would of won because italy couldn't find the net

I also want italy to win now england are out, hate the germans and Portuguese, and spain have won everything for the past 4 years, would like a change

Only possible with Manuel Neuer.

I have high hopes for The Ox and Welbeck, to go into a major tournament and perform well just shows their pedigree. Roy seems to be managing the team well and he's taking them in a positive direction.

there will be some great oppurtunities in WC qualifying for them, for example san marino, lost 11-0 to holland, they will be games where the youngsters get a full 90 minutes, and hopefully get a couple goals

It would certainly appear so :v: also, you're pretty much the first person to notice that, or at least the first person to bring that up.
Fun fact: Germany won the Under-21-EURO 2009 in Sweden.
Guess who we won against in the Semi-Final?
Italy.
Guess which players were part of that German under-21 team, that are now part of the current national team?
Manuel Neuer, Sami Khedira, Mesut Özil, Mats Hummels and Jérôme Boateng.
Guess who didn't socre against Manuel Neuer.
