Used to support Juventus, then moved to Sweden so I kinda stopped following (never was a very avid supporter anyway).
It was funny because after the two goals Balotelli scored, everyone's opinion of him changed. Lega Nord (which is a kinda far right party, not nazis but they want to stop all/most immigration, north Italy seceding, dislike southern Italians and all that stuff) did a 180 and said he was a "true Northern Italian" (actually more sad than funny).

Italy simply lacked star power. You can't depend your entire attack on Balotelli, your entire midfield game on Pirlo and the entire defense on Buffon like what they did with Germany if you're playing against a team that is literally composed of star players.
