Dude, Zach himself said that it was his dick, it was taken with his iphone in the bathroom of the same hotel that they did the Come Up And Get Me video in.
I feel like an ass then, I apologize for my misinfo
i dare you to find someone under the age of 30 that says the cars are their favorite band [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] i care about it because you don't get it and you are perpetuating ignorance.
uh not being able to do that would not prove 80s new wave has forgotten what kind of post is that
in the 80s the cars were (arguably) considered a new wave band, as were "the knack" and other similar acts. the fact you don't recognize/know that is sort of my point.
in the 80s the cars were (arguably) considered a new wave band, as were "the knack" and other similar acts. the fact you don't recognize/know that is sort of my point.
do you mean me personally or people in general I would argue that the sound and aesthetic of 80s new wave are very well remembered
they are falsely remembered, is my point, because what was actually considered new wave at the time has been forgotten and been shuffled into other genres thusly.
they are falsely remembered, is my point, because what was actually considered new wave at the time has been forgotten and been shuffled into other genres thusly.
cmon dude, isn't this enough already besides, falsely remembered? you can't just generalize the way every listener in the world thinks about a genre
a few band that were new wave then and are still considered such, like blondie or devo, are still remembered, perhaps, but their aesthetics are so unique that you can't lump them into a genre. they are outliers. even then, only their punk eras are really remembered outside of "80s classics" radio where they are simply considered pop (ie devo's first 2 albums, early blondie, first 2 pretenders albums). the concept new wave itself meaningless and forgotten. how are the go go's well remembered? how is the knack well remembered? soft cell? culture club? orchestral maneuvers in the dark? the squeeze???? perhaps you are confusing post-punk (a generally legitimate genre) with new wave... new wave is pop trash, commercialized rebellion, "safe" punk. very different. [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline]
cmon dude, isn't this enough already besides, falsely remembered? you can't just generalize the way every listener in the world thinks about a genre
we are talking about music history here. at a time, metallica was considered "power metal" and voivod was "black metal." i am talking about the way a genre is perceived now as happening as opposed to how it actually happened, what it actually was, in the same way most people consider punk starting with the sex pistols instead of the stooges or the mc5, etc. it is a general, mass misconception born of nostalgia and misrepresentation of historical events.
I wouldn't expect some faggot with an anime avatar to understand anyways, go back to listening to J-Pop or some gay shit.
haha he has a different sexual orientation what a loser [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline]
why do you do what you do
more people should do what he does music is worth it
jebus, this thread it goes it goes it goes it goes it goes on for longer than it should
jebus, this thread it goes it goes it goes it goes it goes on for longer than it should
Death Grips jokes get painfully unfunny at times.
just say the word noided over and over it will never get old lol!
What's noid? I looked it up and all I got was some rabbit in a red gimp suit
just say the word noided over and over it will never get old lol!
haHA YES #NOIDED it goes it goes it goes [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline]
What's noid? I looked it up and all I got was some rabbit in a red gimp suit
Paranoid
But that's black sabbath not death grips
What's noid? I looked it up and all I got was some rabbit in a red gimp suit
noided is paranoid, usually while under the influence [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline] i've seen footage
a lot of people perceived it as a letdown after the money store, criticizing the stripped-down production and more bizarre and seemingly contrived lyricism
from what i've seen opinions on DG releases are way too varied to just generalize and say NLDW was poorly received. its hard to say what my fav release is but i listen to NLDW on a regular basis and i know a lot of other people who do. right now i'd say all their releases are on the same level of quality (save for Birds single)
the only real issue i have with this band is that they are clearly marketing over music, or even more specifically that their fans seem more enthralled with the "idea" of death grips, the story of mc ride, videos of death grips and gifs and all that fucking bullshit (and MEMES) and the IDEA that death grips is in ANY way breaking any ground than in the content of the music itself. it's pitchfork music media 101, sell the people a story, not a song. I place far more blame into the fans that buy into this type of bullshit and thusly encourage it than i do the bands that partake in it. frankly, they don't have a choice.
ya but what if you just like the music a lot! im in no disagreement that death grips definitely cares about marketing and fans who say they "just dont give a fuck" are ridiculously naive (when they posted the leaked email from epic on facebook it was literally captioned MARKETING MARKETING MARKETING iirc), but i dont see how posting gifs of a band you like means you're falling to some grand marketing scheme [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline]
i care about it because you don't get it and you are perpetuating ignorance.
vedi ily but i feel like you're taking this way too seriously. if you dont like death grips and think theyre image centric trash then ok but saying being a fan of death grips is "perpetuating ignorance" is so melodramatic for no reason
vedicardi i will pay you to just fade away from this thread like holy shit dude stop ramming OPINIONS down peoples throats
haHA YES #NOIDED it goes it goes it goes

just say the word noided over and over it will never get old lol!
and this shit isn't fucking contributing if you don't like something don't proceed to spread your asscheeks all over the fucking thread
and this shit isn't fucking contributing if you don't like something don't proceed to spread your asscheeks all over the fucking thread
Sorry pointing out that Death Grips are pretty much one massive meme to everyone. See:
#noided

I will remain noided, even in a rocking chair.

Sorry pointing out that Death Grips are pretty much one massive meme to everyone. See:
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and you shouldn't be so mean about it. Stay noided, friend.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and you shouldn't be so mean about it. Stay noided, friend.
Don't see how I'm being mean, just getting sick of the whole "meme grips" scene.
Don't see how I'm being mean, just getting sick of the whole "meme grips" scene.
I love lil b but lil b is the definition of meme rap, are you sick of that too?
le noided XD
Don't see how I'm being mean, just getting sick of the whole "meme grips" scene.
hey maybe you could just listen to music and not say silly memes maybe then your problems will go awayyyyy
Most fanbases are terrible, it doesn't make the band bad, just the fans.
i think what vedi is saying is that while death grips' sound may influence and be consumed into other genres, the band itself won't be remembered outside of niche weirdos and obsessives
fucking hell I really didn't think this thread would turn out this long and angry
I love lil b but lil b is the definition of meme rap, are you sick of that too?
Lil B isn't the most serious of artists though, it's widely accepted that his music is a bit of fun.
from what i've seen opinions on DG releases are way too varied to just generalize and say NLDW was poorly received. its hard to say what my fav release is but i listen to NLDW on a regular basis and i know a lot of other people who do. right now i'd say all their releases are on the same level of quality (save for Birds single) ya but what if you just like the music a lot! im in no disagreement that death grips definitely cares about marketing and fans who say they "just dont give a fuck" are ridiculously naive (when they posted the leaked email from epic on facebook it was literally captioned MARKETING MARKETING MARKETING iirc), but i dont see how posting gifs of a band you like means you're falling to some grand marketing scheme [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline] vedi ily but i feel like you're taking this way too seriously. if you dont like death grips and think theyre image centric trash then ok but saying being a fan of death grips is "perpetuating ignorance" is so melodramatic for no reason
gifs are just commercials for people under the age of 25 i take music (and music business) seriously im not saying all fans of death grips are doing what he is doing, but what he is doing, is indeed perpetuating ignorance if you like the music a lot, it is "too late" but in my perfect world you would just not have listened to them in the first place, ignoring the hype, not caring what your friends think is worth listening to, and so on. develop your own taste, think for yourself, be an individual. [editline]5th September 2013[/editline]
vedicardi i will pay you to just fade away from this thread like holy shit dude stop ramming OPINIONS down peoples throats and this shit isn't fucking contributing if you don't like something don't proceed to spread your asscheeks all over the fucking thread
forums arent for opinions they are for hugs! [editline]5th September 2013[/editline]
Lil B isn't the most serious of artists though, it's widely accepted that his music is a bit of fun.
he doesnt even sell products! he has never signed to a label, he has never charged for any of his real artistic output, he just is. that is the important difference. his message is never, "buy my product," or even "pay attention/listen to me" it's "let's all just have fun and be happy" [editline]5th September 2013[/editline]
i think what vedi is saying is that while death grips' sound may influence and be consumed into other genres, the band itself won't be remembered outside of niche weirdos and obsessives
to me, it is not even really an original sound. there are very few people trying to emulate it as far as im aware at least, so how influential can it be? it's been how many years since their demo came out? with punk rock it took literally all of two weeks before other bands were influenced by it. there is no movement here, there is an outlier that exists within a culture of drones (no offense). at best, they will be remembered like... i dont know, maybe NMH? i dont even want to think about that...
people tried to say that kanye's new album was directly influenced by death grips but i think they're completely deluded
