Because originality invokes innovation, charm and a sense of effort and accomplishment. Whereas a cliché is something that, although of your own creation conforms to an ideology that has been documented and is unoriginal.
Whether this is actually bad or not is completely subjective, but personally I think that if you were to put a degree of effort into something then it should atleast try to be original.
However I think that thing is pretty original.
But it is still very cheesy.
