Gender Neutral Bathrooms. Why not just put BATHROOM on the door and only have one bathroom, rather than two opposite each other if it's such a super confusing politically correct mess. My god
In the end does it actually even matter? It's the bathroom. You go in there, take a dump, and get out. Who cares if you're a transgender werebear otherkin feminist in the bathroom, it's your discretion as to which bathroom you need to go into. If you're a transgendered person then you must have determined which gender you are, otherwise you would be in a huge mess as far as documentation and such goes, so if it's possible for them to say "I am a male/female" then why cant they choose the appropriate bathroom? If you're a guy who insists that his gender is female then go into the male bathroom because you are a male and that bathroom is designed to be more efficiently used by men. Really bathrooms are more divided by sex than gender, so what is the big deal? Is the problem that the women's restroom shows a girl with a dress? Is that "forcing gender roles" on people too hard? Pathetic.

most places just put WC for unisex bathrooms

Did you mean, if you have a male body, and you insist to identify as a woman, you should use the male bathroom? Because that's anti-progressive Or did you mean, if you identify as a man, and you insist that your body is female(?), you should use the male restroom because you are a man. Because that's more progressive, but it's using incorrect terminology and worded really confusingly. Gender != sex

Current signage does not address trans people well, and could be done much better to reflect their existence.

I mean that if that person is for example a female who believes she is a male should go to the male restroom if that is where she is comfortable. It's up to the individual. I also understand that gender doesn't equal sex, and I made a horribly worded post due to the huge mess of pronouns that is involved when referring to transgendered individuals. Many of them prefer to be called by what they believe they are, and calling a woman who believes she is a man a she might offend her. So in that post I referred to that person by the pronoun that they would generally prefer. Honestly pronouns are for the person speaking and not the person spoken to, but that's another matter. For the sake of clarifying that post I used the original pronoun in this one. We can't cater to literally everything and everybody. [editline]12th July 2014[/editline]
you shouldn't say stuff that's representative of what trans people go through if you don't know the issue itself.
I mean there's nothing institutionally preventing that. People inside the bathroom are another matter, and I'm sure people in a gender neutral bathroom would still have the same prejudices. The bathrooms changed, but the people don't.

Likewise man/woman/boy/girl are generally specified to indicate gender, a person's expression of their personality. As for signage, the common iconography does not depict race. no humans are #000000, nor #ffffff. But a skirt/dress vs. pants is clearly indicative of traditional gender values, which most people, who are cissexual, will understand as icons to guide them to a restroom suitable for their sex. I think the best option is to throw away any notion of the person using it, and just show a toilet or sink. No need to discriminate.

Replacing those would be a significant unnecessary cost to that establishment, and that's what I really have a problem with. If a public or private establishment wants to have a gender neutral bathroom I don't have a problem with that so long as they aren't trying to fix something that isn't broken in the first place. My position is also that I have a problem with the sign in that video. I don't know if that's just something FOX invented on the fly, or if it's being considered to be a standard for gender neutral bathrooms or whatever, but I definitely agree with you that it should just be a toilet or something. Hopefully there is never any legislation that forces gender neutral bathrooms to be built and especially any legislation that forces conversion of existing bathrooms to gender neutral bathrooms. I prefer that would be down to the owner of that establishment.
The only objection I have to "gender neutral bathrooms" (also known as "bathrooms") is where the urinals are gonna go. That's it. We need to get women onboard the urinal trend as well, their version needs to be perfected and marketed better. The toilets should really be for shitting only, optimally.
What about these? [t]http://www.naagtag.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/800x800/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/r/e/restroom-signs-unisex.jpg[/t]
