About the scene a while back about the definition of a photographer that Doriol totally seemed loose it over; I just have to say that having a camera and going around taking shitty photos with the camera on Automatic-mode doesn't make you a professional Photographer. Same as your father having a guitarr and you being able to play the basic riff to Smoke on the Water (036037603630 <- that simple) doesn't make you a Guitarrist. You shouldn't hate people for being trendy. I can understand having a particular dislike for "hipster" tendencies or whathaveyou, but you'll just come across as anti-social if you actually hate the people that exhibit them. There's an important difference between expressing your personal tastes about people and showing intolerance toward them. They have no purpose with what they do. They try to be as obscure as possible and break away from conformity while conforming with their own group (all hipsters dress the same and like the same music.) Then, when confronted about something, they try to cover everything up by being "ironic."

I don't outwardly hate them, but I think they're pretty massive dorks.

I don't understand the hate on hipsters, let them be who they want to be. I don't care if you are hipster, metal dude, pop dude or whatever, as it is your choice how you look, not mine. I don't categorize people before knowing them, and especially not because of looks.
