It was just that the largest and best organized operations happened to be the benevolent ones. There are many instances of small, disorganized groups of Anons doing illegal and/or malevolent things. This happens to be one of the larger instances of a poorly planned attack which benefits nobody.

Anon is comparable to the Orks of 40k if any of you know what the fuck I'm talking about. Its a senseless mass of infighting until it has a common enemy. The leaders are determined through skill, usually the acquisition of knowledge. The better "hacking" skill, the more likely they will follow. It seems the ones with a worthy cause have fallen behind the idiots.
