He could also just spend time to get a major breakthrough in quantum mechanics instead of building a perfect city in Sim city.
The music is fucking creepy.
This.
someone actually wasted that much of their life for that LOL
What life.
OMG, that early version of the game is so out of date. I can not understand why just do the old version when newer versions exist on STEAM, such as: building sufficient transportation for that type of population. Now you see how different the buildings are in this picture. I doubt the computer can randomize things properly, considering when you play GTA, all the pedestrians look the same at times, this is an example of why a lot of human hours are spent into doing these things. However, as for the old version of the game, I don't understand how you can stand doing the same thing over again like the millionaire did, seems it would get old pretty fast. Then again, if not concentrating on what is built, the computer is whose responsible for growing those buildings and populating them, even though you zoned everything right, and allowed proper living conditions. Concentrating on what gets built where is what makes the game take forever, since you have to navigate through menus, and figure out placement, desirability, pollution, bad neighborhood/good neighborhood, mathmatical specs, involving all sorts of complicated matter with real city planning, involving various finances and taxes. Eh, this is usually why in reality, it is not a one person job. I should mention there are a lot of senior citizens who do this game. If your old and retired, how else are you going to spend those remaining days? You have to understand that a huge percentage of the baby boomer generation is not into violent shoot them up games ours is into now, why they would be doing this. A portion of SimCity players that really have Autism usually hang around the fourth version, the last good one, the first developer, Maxis developed, before EA killed it. Those highways you saw up top with those lane configurations, intersections, and flexible overpass options were never seen again in later versions. For this reason, I would not think a young person would be playing the older version of this game. Flat games were more common for youth in the 80's, what was then known as 3D for gaming, was not known personally until the 90's.
I've seen this long time ago here on Facepunch, the first thing that came to my mind was: Who would spend few years on making some virtual city? To me it's just a waste of time.
Dude, it's not that people spend their entire time playing that game. It takes years to build such a great metropolitan city by completing your daily, mundane tasks, as well as having some recreational time to play games(not, of course, spening its entire spare time doing so).
