Gotta love the :downs::downs: [editline]10:25PM[/editline]
Conch fritters. If you are wondering what a conch is, you listen to the 'sea' through their shells. I ate these every night for nearly a week before i found out what they were. They were beautiful, the tastiest food i had ever eaten, then while at the beach someone pointed to a large shell and said "Oh look a conch". If they didn't taste so good i may have hurled from eating giant sea-snail fritters.
Collecting Conchs is illegal. :cop:
Guys, I need help! I have chicken drumlets, and bbq sauce, and flour. Which should I make? Fried chicken or bbq drumlets? And if I were to make bbq drumlets, how do I make them?
I have a list of some useful FP recipes. Here: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dqzx7zm_34z9nz44g6&pli=1&authkey=CInKhuIH Just PM me or reply to this if you want me to add something to it.
Bookmarked this page of recipes. I'm gonna try a few in the next couple of days, provided I have the ingredients on hand.

Yeah, those I'm avoiding. I'm digging the lemon curd though.
I made a microwave pizza yesterday. I'm a chef!
Looks good, curd of any sort is usually tasty. I like this note though: "*Pour into another bowl (not the one the raw eggs were in)" because FP is so :downs: they would reuse a bowl that raw eggs were in. I should cull a few recipes I know how to make/have been learning and send em in. Or we just need a recipe megathread, that would probably be best.
I say we just throw recipes in here. The thread is to discuss food after all, why not chip in recipes of food that people can enjoy?
Idk, seems like they would be more prominent in their own thread. But sure, i'll try and think of some i've been making. It's like 3:20 am though, so might take me a bit
I'll chuck in some of my own recipes soon. Got a couple of killer ones, Filipino upbringing rocks in that aspect.
You lucky bastard, my ethnic food is just normal american stuff :sigh: I'll prob wait till tomorrow to pitch in, my brain's dead right now
I think you need an egg wash for proper fried chicken, so that may be out. And, uh, cover in BBQ sauce and bake for 30 min to an hour?
You mean bbq chicken they bake it? I deserve dumbs. That is because I am in culinary class and I didn't know people bake them.
Waffles
You mean bbq chicken they bake it? I deserve dumbs. That is because I am in culinary class and I didn't know people bake them.
Pretty sure, yea. Least that's how i've always seen it done, baste them and either grill or bake them. Just cook for a while to let the sauce penetrate the meat slightly and get it fork tender EDIT: Actually I think you bake the chicken for about 2/3 of the total time, then baste in BBQ sauce and bake for the rest. From googling it, it seems about 1-1.5 hours total
Best pizza places where I live are Pizza Express and Pizza Hut!
Can you help me find a good video tutorial or guide? I don't have a bbq pit, and all they show is bbq pit. Xen, you are really helpful [editline]08:49AM[/editline]
Best pizza places where I live are Pizza Express and Pizza Hut!
Fuck me, you called pizza hut good? Their pizza bread was hard as rocks.
http://www.slapyamama.com/ Slap ya Mama is a damn good all purpose cajun seasoning. Put it on fries, popcorn, chicken, anything. They even make stuff for seafood boils. It's goooood.

Here, this looks really good: http://www.thehungrymouse.com/2009/04/13/oven-baked-bbq-chicken/ If you're using a chicken other than legs, like breasts or some other smaller piece, just cut down on the baking times. If you're not sure when they're done, if you have a thermometer, pop it in the center and bake till it reads 165* F. And I was off on the times, it says about 40-45 minutes.

[editline]03:54AM[/editline] Don't forget you can always toss the wings in a big bowl of BBQ sauce after baking!
Are you trying to make BBQ chicken wings? [editline]03:54AM[/editline] Don't forget you can always toss the wings in a big bowl of BBQ sauce after baking!
drumlets [editline]08:58AM[/editline] btw, I'm using Heinz honey garlic bbq sauce.
I've always called both drums and wings just, "Wings". Like hot wings or buffalo wings. For wings you want to toss them in a big bowl (preferably with a lid) of your choice of sauce after baking. [editline]04:02AM[/editline] If you got a deep fryer, throw the wings in that baby then toss. Deepfried wings are better than backed imo. [editline]04:03AM[/editline] As far as cooking times, you may want to look those up. Poultry isn't something you want to under cook.
That works as well, a lot easier than basting. Flavor won't be as deep, but it's a pretty even tradeoff. And yea, fried wings are damn tasty, it's actually what I had for dinner. Garlic Parmesan, fuck yea

It wouldn't get covered evenly and you would end up with a mess. Just a lot easier to toss wings. Now larger bits of chicken, bast those puppies on a grill. Or use a good flavored seasoning salt.
wow this is confusing, what are you guys talking bout?
wow this is confusing, what are you guys talking bout?
Do you have an oven or deep fryer?
Yea, true, I wasn't thinking about drumsticks. Well, there you go, bake for... until they're done, idk what time to tell you, then toss in sauce. Sounds easy enough. EDIT: We're talking about baking vs. frying wings, and basting vs. tossing. What you probably want to do, unless you have a deep fryer, is do what I said, bake the wings in the oven till they're done, then pour the BBQ sauce in a bowl, plop drumsticks in, cover, and shake till they're covered.

Don't under cook though. Can't imagine eating a raw chicken wing would be good.
Do you have an oven or deep fryer?
deep fryer no, oven yes. But I can always fry it with a wok.
You haven't tasted a real burger until you've had one at a real 40's / 50's diner.
