Garry's line to us in the mod forum was that he downgraded Hezzy to regular moderator status when he saw he'd made the Minecraft forum, then demodded him completely when he saw Hezzy's remark about Garry deleting all the Lifestyle subforums.
He also said that he intended to re-mod him after a while, that the demod was meant for Hezzy to "cool off" while Garry decided what to do, but at that point Hezzy said he didn't want to come back unless Garry apologized to the people whose threads he deleted and until Hezzy got a better line of communication with Garry.
I can't really blame Hezzy for not wanting to come back like nothing happened, I can tell you from firsthand experience that getting demodded is not only vaguely humiliating but seriously damages your credibility as a moderator for a long time afterward. And for Hezzy, who has literally been running Facepunch for the better part of the last decade, it was about as big a slap in the face as was possible. Telling him to "cool off" after that is pretty insulting.

When I left, Garry was basically saying "I don't know why we even had an administrator, let's try not having one for a while" and taking a much more active role in running the forums. That said, I'm almost certain that in a few weeks or less he's going to get bored of running FP and go back to coding full-time or something. At that point I really don't know what's going to happen. Dragon is "Lead Mod" so he might end up doing Hezzy's job. Or maybe Benji or Compwhizii will end up in charge, since they pretty consistenly side with Garry. Honestly no idea.

The first thing I'd like to address is I'm glad PacV2 is sharing his knowledge of the behind the scenes at Facepunch however I'm left to question it's validity. Accusations that there is some master plan by some mods is quite serious, and in my opinion very incorrect. [b]Nobody is top dog on the mod team[/b]. I don't see how some people think that's the case, from my view from posts in the mod forum and moderation interactions on the forum. The only person with authority above the rest is garry.
The mod recruits were chosen not by one mod but through discussion in the mod forum. Any moderator that had a problem with a candidate could of raised their concern. And to that, things aren't completely settled. Things can still change, these new mods are not irremovable. If they don't do a good job then garry and the mod team will take care of it.

First of all I'd like to apologize to everyone in the GMF for how that situation was handled. That was completely pathetic of me to go to those image hosts and file takedown notices for the images. I really wish I realized that only made things worse.
I'd also like to apologize for the instance of hard deleting posts in the GMF. Also a bad response to an already bad situation.
