I'd like to contradict this a little. At the time the shit was going down, garry definitely acknowledged (to Hezzy) you weren't supposed to be doing that stuff.
That said, garry probably isn't lying, he's a busy guy and doesn't always remember stuff. Case in point: way back before I was a mod, I had posted some songs I made on FP, and Garry posted in my thread and something like "you should make the menu music for Gmod." I was totally psyched, and I got modded not long after. I put together something I thought would make a sweet menu loop for Gmod and sent it to Garry like "hey, you said you wanted some menu music, check it out."
Garry said "What? No I didn't."

I went back and tried to use the threat of a ban as leverage to get him to explain what the hell he was talking about, he said he was going to try to pay Garry to demod me.
If he says it was a joke, it could have been, I hope starpluck doesn't mind me saying he's a weird-ass dude :v:

It was not only gmf/mod he said he would remove his access to, it was all of the forum except private other forums for FP development.
In the end, he didn't remove his access at all and continued acting like nothing had happened, despite directly being asked multiple times by numerous mods what the hell he was doing
