I really can't figure out why he would show so much indifference towards the single biggest source of PR for his single biggest source of income.

I think it's more a general principle of it's not nice to ruin someone's fun just because you can. Say you somehow got Admin on Rapture Ready or something, regardless of how insane they are it's still a bit of abuse to just destroy everything.
