i know him on steam, very down to earth guy. you can ask him a joke even if it was a horrible one he'd respond seriously to it. he'd be the best choice for a mod if i ever saw one

I don't think mod election is a good idea, I think we should still leave it up to the moderators. Despite what you assume, a moderator election can produce worse mods than what the current mods can choose as it ends up as a popularity contest. However listening to the community when we suggest people (e.g. Big Dumb American and Brickinhead) and they should consider them deeply.
