How is that even close to a valid comparison?

Here's a closer comparison: a football coach telling his every move over Twitter during the Superbowl.
Literally any "They were asking for it" excuse applies
And that never actually works or means anything so sure run with whatever you want

But this is video games, not real life? Video games are often about defeating your opponent so can you blame people when they use available avenues to do so?
so if a player can hear commentators at a professional event and uses it to know where the enemies are they should be able to use that info?
Yes, as long as the competition has no specific agreement not to.

wait so "its not real life" works when your original argument was streamers were just in it for the money
so its their job but its not real life?
whats your point my dude
Streaming is a stupid "job" though. If by streaming you are at gameplay disadvantage and you don't stop streaming, you have no right to complain when there is the simple solution of stopping streaming or at least putting your stream on a delay or something to prevent it. If you can't stop because "it is your job" then you have to either suck it up or find a real job.
I'm sorry, but if Streaming puts you at a gameplay disadvantage then there is simply
It's clear that stream sniping is a dick move, but I'm curious, what's the consensus on ghosting?
Like, if a game has a built in text/voice chat system that gets disabled upon death or is only available for players who are near your character in-game, is it okay for teammates to continue communicating via discord (or any other voice chat software) during the match? Is it unfair for them to be making call-outs about where they were killed or where the enemy is grouped up?
It's a similar concept, they're using external software for an advantage that isn't readily available in the game itself, and making a direct impact on other players by sharing more information than what the game provides.
ok so you are projecting based on your opinions of what they do for money
good job ignoring my actual argument lmao
i find that people who criticize streaming as a job don't actually know 1/4th of the work that goes into streaming. if its not a real job they sure do make a DAMN lot of money from their fake job
selling drugs can make you a lot of cash and requires work, but i wouldn't call it a real job
[editline]10th June 2017[/editline]
why give you the light of day when you've ignored all of us? it's pointless
Please point to one part where I've ignored anyone.
selling drugs illegally isnt taxed, nor is it a legally accepted occupation
not sure why you thought that was a good argument
I don't expect many low level streamers to actually pay proper taxes for what they do.
[editline]10th June 2017[/editline]
the fact that you still think you are in the right that "streamers are asking to get streamsniped" is where i can point to to show you've ignored everyone.
"i disagree with you therefore you must be ignoring my argument"
None of this is even relevant to why sniping is even bad anymore. Now you're just complaining because I said streaming is a dumb job (which it is).
Going back on the original topic on stream sniping, it can be an asshole thing to do but it's to be expected. Giving away in game locations will lead to people finding you.
This has devolved to nothing but name calling at this point, and it's already been that for some time. People just feel safer about it when its a bunch of people yelling at one. We've reached a basic disagreement of what counts as in-game, because some people simply don't understand that in large sandbox games, the game extends way past the client. To me as long as you arent doing anything illegal, breaking the game's EULA, or modifying the client itself with an aimbot or similar it cant be called cheating. Watching a stream... it's a joke as far as cheating goes.
I only consider you guys naive. You won't find a single reasonably sized group in any of the games i'm talking about that wouldn't check up on a livestream of one of their enemies if they were silly enough to do so, at this point your beef is with the entire eve online community and other similar sandbox games. Infosec is what those games are about, people who refuse to adapt to that are the carebears of legend. So, done.
You complain about name calling and then spend the thread calling people who disagree with you "carebears"
pls go

You seem like the kind of person that would immediately use someone's credit card credentials if he accidentally showed it on stream.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Stream sniping is frowned up by nearly all players, especially in higher rankings. The streamer does it to entertain his viewers. Should he just tell his viewers he's going to stop because some cunt is using his stream to cheat in games?
And don't argue it's not cheating. It literally is. You're watching the stream to gain an unfair advantage over your opponent.

Supposedly, she's been transferring skins to another steam account and already has a new twitch account. Her original steam account still isn't VAC'd for some reason.

so I can hack, cheat, or do anything by that extension of logic eh?
okay
can we play games together friend

Lets see if she is going to cheat again on second account

can't vac bans potentially take weeks to kick in? not surprised it hasn't taken effect yet. tho I'm gonna laugh if she doesn't fully remove the hack or something and ends up banned on the new account. That shit happened all the time in the Rust forum.
I don't get why people are giving the Stream sniping guy so much shit. I don't do it myself, but by streaming you are opening yourself to it. I remember this one time time a streamer had his GTA5 CD Key stolen because he streamed with the key on screen
that guy was asking for it for being such a huge idiot, stream snipers though I'm not so sure about
actively detected/public cheats take 12-72 hours usually, inuria is a paid cheat so its probably not detected right now since a wave just happened and they are clear.

pretty sure if people just show a valve employee the video they can just have her manually VAC'd
pretty sure if people just show a valve employee the video they can just have her manually VAC'd
Won't happen. Even when a cheat is first detected valve likes to wait and have people rounded up so they can catch as many people in one big wave as possible
I will never forget my friend that got VAC banned because he let some "friend" borrow his account just to cheat on Cs:s.

I've got a similar story except I never actually hacked, but had my steam account hijacked for a few months before I realized (I was 12) that I could contact steam support and provide picture evidence of CD keys from games on my account I'd bought retail.

VAC is an automatic system.
If the cheat in question isn't detected by it, I really doubt she'll ever be vac banned.
I don't think valve does them manually either.
And she streams this too. She's really not the brightest.
its not like they can really stop her from transfering skins if the account isnt fully VAC'd yet

PS: she made a new twitch account and recorded her trading all of her CS:GO items to a friend, whilst saying "I don't care that I'm banned, I really don't"
Are you sure it was a VAC Proof hack? The VAC bans are delayed so maybe it just hit you late. How'd you know someone sent in a recording of you?
Probably, I still have no idea how getting VAC Banned works, the guy said he'd been watching me hack and said he had recorded the entire thing, I got banned a few days later, so either the hacked I used had a delay, the video was sent in and they banned me from that or shit's a coincidence that I get banned a few days after someone said they recorded me, as I'd done so a couple of other times previously to that and never got banned for it.
Honestly I don't even give a shit, I got banned from CS:S, TF2 and some other Source games, not like it matters much now in 2017 where Source Mods aren't as big of a deal.
