Feels so wrong, knowing this will profit Konami with fuckloads of money. It's a nice thought buying it to pay homage to the guy, but the real winner here is Konami when all comes to all.

Both sides of the Konami vs. Kojima thing are retarded. Konami is retarded for shutting down Silent Hills and treating their employees like shit. The full on Kojima worshipers are going insane because Konami removed his name from the front of the packaging. It's a Kojima game, you're going to see his name about half a dozen times before the game even fucking starts.

I agree on the basis that both sides have their points, but not about removing his name and Kojima Productions from the box. They made the game, they deserve the credit. But in all fairness to Konami he went over budget on ridiculous shit like up to 40 songs that never got used and god knows what else. If I was in their shoes I wouldn't be happy either.

I'm not sure where else a gun would be safer to place on a mech like that, if you stopped thinking about the crotch aspect you could argue it offers the best protection in-between its legs, away from its centre mass, etc.

if it makes you feel any better, the role of the metal gear itself in these games is usually pretty subdued in comparison to that of character interaction
i felt like some of it is a bit much (along with an explicit MGS4 spoiler for people who haven't gotten to the end of it) but the majority of it was still pretty vague - the presence of (trailer spoilers) [sp]mantis hovering above metal gear means that we're not really sure whether or not those spikes are real, so they very well still could be all a part of bb's imagination, and makes much of that scene susceptible to the unreliable narrator[/sp]. that is the sort of doubt that makes metal gear fun, and part of what makes mgs2 so incredible imo.
tbh i'm sort of against the grain and didn't really appreciate this trailer or get any serious emotions out of it like i have the previous ones, probably because this trailer is effectively a rehash of mgs4's [sp]final boss fight which was much more poignant[/sp]
