he can manipulate his voice to sound different on certain tracks
Auto-tune?
Auto-tune?
No as in, pitch and using different emphasis on syllables.
You know, I hate his voice. But I like his rhythms and the beats. Maybe it's just me.
I like Lil Wayne and Drake as a rapper. I love the beat of their music.
this is interesting
I like him
Like him too :quagmire:
this is interesting
Nope, still shit.
Lil' Wayne makes terrible music... and can't rap at all. I don't hate him though, he does something that makes him a shit load of money and he seems happy about it.
Here a more 'friendly beat' for all of you suburb grown and raised white boys.
This shit pisses me off. White suburb kids tend to listen to some pretty heavy music. You don't see too many ghetto hoodrats lining up at metal or punk concerts.
Hahaha all of you probably have no taste in rap, sure his songs don't carry a message but he can manipulate his voice to sound different on certain tracks, his rhymes are pretty boss too. Here a more 'friendly beat' for all of you suburb grown and raised white boys.
I do hope you understand that all those rhymes aren't written by him, he's even admitted before that he gets his freestyles ghostwritten. Oh and I'm no expert on the genre I guess, I just listen to Wu tang clan, NWA, Gang Starr, Rakim, El-P, DMX, Nas, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, Mos Def, MF Doom, Pharoahe Monch, Big Daddy Kane, Juelz Santana, Mobb Deep, Slick Rick, K-OS, B. Dolan, Everlast, Sage Francis, Childish Gambino, Jay-z, Kanye, E-40, Keak Da Sneak, Das Racist, XV, Celph Titled, Vinnie Paz, Wale, J.Cole, Jay Electronica, The Roots, Public Enemy, Meek Mill, M.O.P, Lupe Fiasco, Cunninlynguists, Dilated Peoples, LL Cool J and Hail Mary Mallon just off the top of my head. But Yeah, I probably don't know what I'm talking about here you're right.
Really don't see why wayne gets so much hate. Far from the worst as far as mainstream hip-hop goes. He has a unique style that just appeals to some people. His lyrics are really hit and miss, but he comes up with some clever stuff sometimes. I don't like him all too much, but I can see why people enjoy him. For whatever reason everyone blames him for mainstream music being shit.

Rap isn't about how black you are, genius. Jay Z has a lot of good songs in my and many other people's opinions, and why the fuck would I care how good Pharoahe is live, I don't plan on ever seeing him live. Lil Wayne is incredibly mediocre, he does pretty much none of his music himself, why would I respect him as an artist over people like El-P, who makes his own beats and lyrics?
because the rap game isn't a factory, no one are interests how many beats you make just how many units you ship stack paperall day everyday
because the rap game isn't a factory, no one are interests how many beats you make just how many units you ship stack paperall day everyday
no it's not a factory, it's an art. If Jean Michel Basquiat didn't paint his own paintings and just put his name on them I wouldn't respect him as an artist. If Kurt Vonnegut got somebody else to ghostwrite his novels I wouldn't respect him as an author. Lil Wayne is just a person they shoved in front of a mic and said 'here say these words over this beat we made and you'll get rich' which is fine, let him make his paper, but I don't have to like his music. Seriously the only thing I've ever liked by him was the instrumental from 6 foot 7 foot, which he didn't make.
