B...but Nostradamus said A LONG TIME AGO, so it must be history, right? RIGHT?
Recently History has gone down the shitter.
Most of television has gone down the shitter. News stations, The History Channel, Discovery, Cartoon Network, all things Disney. I've quit watching TV altogether, there's nothing worth watching.
Sure religion and such is history, but I am way too tired of "Nostradomus Prophecies" and "2012 theories" Sick of it.
It's not the Fact Channel, it's the History channel, meaning it's what happened in history, even if that means delving into the mythological beliefs of people.
How are Aliens and Bigfoot historical? [editline]06:48AM[/editline]
Yeah I remember the History Channel showing all short of stuff like WWII, medieval shit, and all that stuff, you know actual history. Now its all about gangs, paranormal stuff, the universe, hell even a show about a fucking Pawn shop.
You mean Pawn Stars?
At least it aint as bad as Canada's History Television. They do nothing but show two series about loggers and ice truckers.
Wait a minute. Why is Ice road truckers even on history channel? What's so historic about trucks?
To be fair, History channel mostly bumped their WW II stuff into their military channel. Back then it was really annoying, more things happened in history other than dubya dubya tooo But they got to do something for ratings, other wise they won't be able to keep the channel on the more common packages. Really, it gets hard to do this every single day I'd imagine. That means having to delve into the more unappetizing parts of history and go through cycles of annoying phases and cliches.
So the history channel has switched from "HOORAH WE WERE THE BEST IN WW2 / HITLER WAS BAD" 24/7 to "MYSTIC SHIT"?
Too bad Shaw cable TV doesn't have the Military Channel. However their sat plan has it but it's too fucking expensive.
I think it's funny how History/Discovery go through annoying phases (Hitler Channel/Ghost Channel etc)
Yeah, this shit pisses me off too. Luckily National Geographic is still good, along with the Science Channel to a lesser degree. Even Lock n' Load is horrible, they either skim over important details or get them completely wrong, it's only redeeming quality being the Gunny himself really. The Military channel isn't very good either, just endless repeats of the same episodes. You can only watch "Top 10" or "Anatomy of" so many times before they get old.
Discovery needs more Mythbusters and less Paranormal shit
I've been bitching about this for a year now. They do stuff on the Templars, Masons, Nostradamus, and Jesus vs. Satan EVERY GODDAMN DAY. That is why I watch the Travel Channel now.
mmmm yeah. Man Vs. Food.
Discovery needs more Mythbusters and less Paranormal shit
No. They need to return to how it was back in the 90s, where it had some relaxing British guy describing the scene in which a lion prowls the safari searching for prey. :frogbon:
Wait a minute. Why is Ice road truckers even on history channel? What's so historic about trucks?
Trucks were created in the past, a moment in history that has to be remembered by having people drive across thin ice in the trucks and all that makes a smashing 1hr of bullshit.
And Lobster Fishing. And Swordfishing. I want to have them do a parody called, "The Fish Men" and have it set in a town named Innsmouth. :cthulhu:
That show would be called: The Great Old Fisher Ones
And this is why you watch Viasat History. (which is only available for Scandinavia and friends) :smugdog: Although it sometimes turns into Viasat Cold War
Agreed with OP, I happened to check History Channel just now and there was a picture of Jesus and some monk getting interviewed. I want less of this shit.
Tonight on the History Channel: Proof of Jesus existence to be revealed! Only on History at 10pm EST
The proof is that the bible states as fact that...
I'm tired of the history channel having CSI on it.
I actually liked History Channel when it was Hitler Channel, now it just sucks. :frown:
The History Channel has lost it's way, I remember when it was the Hitler Channel...
What I hate most about it are the Nostradamus and Freemason reruns. I feel like hitting my head on a brick wall. I mostly watch biography channel, the science channel, and the National Geographic channel.
At least it aint as bad as Canada's History Television. They do nothing but show two series about loggers and ice truckers.
So they basically got Canada's history in 2 convenient shows.
Modern Marvels is still on History, and that show is fucking awesome.
Discovery needs more Mythbusters and less Paranormal shit
They think it gets more viewers but it doesn't
I stopped watching most of the History channel after it turned into aliens-monster hunting-lumberjack-trucker channel.
some of the programs on the new History Channel are okay, but I agree with everyone (mostly) that they don't belong on history channel. I say move the paranormal shit to other channels like SciFi
