should've said you'd just used mouthwash. ticket free!
There were open beers everywhere. I tried to say that but whatever the cop writes is what happen
There is no drinking age. BECAUSE ITS FUCKING ILLEGAL.
Gotta be some wild parties. "Yo dave, wanna have a taste of my Red Bull? I warn you, this is some strong shit." "Na, I'll stick to my Fanta. Thanks."
Beer at 16 and all the liquor stuff at 18 (also weed)
16 for drinking, 18 for smoking and drugs, it's also legal to have any kind of drug as long as it is for self-use (up to a certain quantity)
18, even though kids usually start drinking before 12.
Belgium doesn't allow weed. We get all kinds of belgians and frenchies that are here just for drugs. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline]
Beer at 16 and all the liquor stuff at 18 (also weed)
16 for alcohol up to a certain percentage (think it's around 12-13 or something) and 18 for anything over that.
21. I live in Massachusetts.
Lowered to 18 in 1973, then raised from 18 to 20 in 1979. Raised to 21 in 1985
I wonder what made them change it so much.
I just moved to China from America. For the Chinese I believe it is 18 but if you are American and white they don't care what age you are. America's age limit is awful. Of course everyone got alcohol every single night they wanted to when underage. But I think it's ridiculous how we can do everything else in the entire country at 18 except drink. We can sign our life away in war, buy cigarettes, go to strip clubs, go gambling but just not drink. In my opinion, I feel like they will never change the law because of how much money it brings to the courts. My town had people constantly getting MIP's.
Who moves to China to be honest? Anyways, in my state, 13+ can drink with an adult, 21 to buy it
21. Fuck America.

And it gets a bit crazy here in China, I read an article that 14 year old expats were going to clubs and bars getting pissed and being a hassle disturbing other customers. EDIT:
Who moves to China to be honest? Anyways, in my state, 13+ can drink with an adult, 21 to buy it
Quite a few people actually.
21, but buying it varies from state to state. Here in Wisconsin, for example, depending on where you go nobody cares. When I went to Ohio with my family once, they made me leave the store when they found out I wasn't 21.
:smug: Other then that I think Ontario, Canada is 19. While you can serve beer or work at a bar when your 18.
Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec are the ones with 18
18, only three weeks to go till I can buy legally. Cant believe the age is 21 in the US. Wtf happened there?
Cops get a lot of money busting people under age. They care more about how many fines they can slap on you rather than your safety. I fucking hated the USA. If I was in danger I would never call the cops. My lawyer told me if the cops show up anywhere they are arresting someone so they didn't waste their time.
on a related note. the fact that so many people here try to drink underage is great. for me atleast. my mum works for strathclyde police, and her colleagues often bring back alchohol they've confiscated off of underage drinkers. they're meant to "dispose" of it down the sink at the station or on the road where it's confiscated, but it somehow, magically ends up going to the homes of the officers and civilians in the office. a couple of weeks ago, i got a full, sealed bottle of jack daniels and a dozen beers. courtesy of some kids in the park

In Australia I think it's 18. Where I come from though, New Zealand, buying age is 18, drinking age has no limitations. Probably not a good thing for my brain cells, looking back. I hear the average drinking age in America is 21? That's nuts.
21. I don't really have a problem with it. There is also medical evidence to provide a reason as to why it is 21. The human brain generally isn't fully developed until you are 21 years old. The lawmakers took that piece of information and decided that since your brain isn't fully developed before 21 that you can't drink. However, it is fairly easy to get alcohol. I don't know what the cops in the other US towns are doing, but everywhere I go the cops are incredibly strict on drinking age. They card you everywhere, and parties get busted up all the time and kids get fucked up by the cops for drinking. Even just having open bottles lying around.
18, but to be honest no one gives a shit and they serve underage teens in pubs.
In Britain 4.2%Vol cider is only 11p more than Coca Cola

18 here, started around 14-15 can't remember, even got caught red handed a few times but the cops were awesome and let us go
It was 18 here in the US is the 70s. 21 really is kinda high....there is talk about lowering it back to 18 but nothing has really broken through yet. I guess specifically there is talk about making it 18 for college campuses. The idea is that it will allow people to experience it on their own and learn their limits and what not earlier rather than later. Only real reason it's 21 here is morals. But I guess also we have a hefty amount of drunk driving accidents and deaths each year so they aim to minimize that all by having the legal age so high. Not sure how we compare to other countries, but it's a fact that it is a problem of some sorts. Thing is, I think it's all about responsibility. That doesn't necessarily come with age. I mean, do you think EVERY 21 year old is a responsible drinker? Obviously not. While it can be argued that a 16 or 18 year old is less likely to be responsible, it's not something to rule out. I myself have had numerous times where I drank irresponsibly and got pretty sick. But I've managed to NOT become an alcoholic and drink a lot less than I use to. I don't need booze at a party for it to be fun. I don't need booze to feel better.
18 to purchase in the UK but I believe if you're with an adult and it's with a meal you can drink at 16 in a restaurant at the landlords discretion.
In Britain 4.2%Vol cider is only 11p more than Coca Cola
It's cheaper than that in some places, I remember being able to get 2L bottle of cider for like £1 at certain corner shops. What a classy 16 year old I was.

21 cuz Amurican
21 in the US. I don't care much for alcohol so it doesn't really effect me. Sort of odd that they picked that age though. Why not 18? Or perhaps 20?
21
18.
Buying is 21, but I'm pretty sure that you can drink with parental permission on private property or something to that effect.
