Drinking and smoking laws are 18 in Romania, but everyone pretty much starts at 15.
The cops don't care that much either.
The drinking laws and education methods surrounding drinking in the US are rather silly. All they lead to are high school aged kids binge drinking out of control irresponsibly, causing all sorts of accidents and injuries.
My father actually taught me to drink. You just gotta take things in moderation and know when to stop.
I never followed that school bullshit on how you should NEVER drink at all until you're 21 cause that leads to getting fucked/throwing up/alcohol poisoning. You gotta start at 14-15 and build up your tolerance from there.
18 for everything, but there are some restrictions when buying alcohol in stores. It is ilegal for stores to sell alcohol between 9 pm and 7 am and for bars and restaurants the restriction is to 10 am.
18 here to buy.
Im 16 and I get served in the city and my parents buy me drink for parties or we get a friend to do that. In Britain there is ALWAYS someone who will be willing to buy drink for someone underaged. Its nothing new really.
21 in the State of PA; I never want to drink though.
Buying age is 18, cops don't care if you're 16+ and at home having a few drinks with your parents around.
21, I'm 17 and I have no problem with it. Theres a lot more stupid 18 year olds than there are 21 year olds in the US imo so might as well play it safe for the rest of everybody.
21, obviously. But I do not plan on drinking anyway, so it's not a concern for me.
16 to buy, 16 to drink.
Canada, 19, except for Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec where it's 18
I think in the US you should be able to drink at 16, that way before you learn to drive you already know what drinks will make you tipsy and the ones that will fuck you up before driving so they don't DUI.
Purchase booze at 18
5 I think to drink it?
Been enjoying the freedom for 4 years now

So you're 9?
Legal age for everything in Ireland is 18, because .. you know.. remembering more than one number would be hard.
18, and 20 or 21 for harder drinks.
You can drink in the UK from age 8 as long as you are with an adult. I remember listening to Radio 2 one day and it was one their facts..
Legal age for drinking alcohol at home
The legal age for drinking in one's home is 5 provided parental consent is given. Children under 5 must not be given alcohol unless under medical supervision in an emergency.
21. I still drink anyways, my parents don't care as long as it's in the house.
21.
But when I go camping, it's 16... :v:
21 which is fucking stupid, because you can smoke at 18 and that shit's way more dangerous.

except drinking can be dangerous to more than just you...
18 but most people start at 13-14.
Our country's all cocked up in my opinion. You can drive at 16 (15 with a learner's permit and an adult in the passenger's seat), you become a legal adult and 18, yet you can't drink until you're 21.
I don't find that weird at all, the damage alcohol causes to your brain and other organs is a lot greater at younger age..

Think before you spout bullshit like that, for example when one is undercooled by falling into a lake in the winter ie.; alcohol can be a life saver.

I think a bullet can cause a bit more damage to your brain than alcohol, yet you can still go to war at age 18.
I drink four years before 21.
I am..CRIMINAL SCUM.
