He did stop though when people called him out so maybe thats a sign of self awareness? maybe a glimmer of hope for reform?
He was being called out for like six pages and only stopped posting when, as you said yourself, people just stopped responding to him. And you think he's the victim in this situation?
Without flagdog, how will I know to not ban Aussies for shitposting...
Without flagdog, how will I know to not ban Aussies for shitposting...
Well if its an Australian then there will probably be a few instances of the word cunt, thrown around without meaning
force all aussies to place an AUS_ before their name
Without flagdog, how will I know to not ban Aussies for shitposting...
Australians will be automatically unbanned after providing photographic evidence of their pet kangaroo, dropbear attack scars, and vegemite collection in the refugee camp.
until australian posters state their national origin, every user on facepunch is assumed to be australian and will be treated with extreme prejudice
force all aussies to place an AUS_ before their name
they should be forced to add the stars from their flag onto their avatar
Sgman wasn't doing anything bannable. While I obviously disagree with him, and think he was being incredibly dense, having bad opinions isn't against the rules.
hi just letting you all know I'm Australian Despite some people... ... Kiwi
they should be forced to add the stars from their flag onto their avatar
well that was easy
Rest In Peace Location Canine
RIP National Pupper
Aw man. I actually found flagdog really handy.
hi just letting you all know I'm Australian Despite some people... ... Kiwi
That's weird, I remember you having an American flagdog. Are you sure?
Aw man. I actually found flagdog really handy.
Me too. It was handy to understand why people had certain positions on things.
Me too. It was handy to understand why people had certain positions on things.
to be honest, in terms of politics I've only seen people refer to their flags as a way to discredit them and their opinions/arguments ("you're not from here, you don't live here, therefore you do not have a say in this" and such) luckily these people get banned most of the time so the issue isn't as huge as it could have been, but it's still annoying when it happens and tends to kill any proper discussion before it can even begin.
Good fucking luck figuring out what country an article is about in SH or polidicks.
Good fucking luck figuring out what country an article is about in SH or polidicks.
Read the article?
Aw man. I actually found flagdog really handy.
it was fun seeing people post from places like tunisia or kazakhstan. a lot more interesting than seeing they posted using firefox on windows 7
Iirc they’re working on fixing it. Flagog is troublesome and is about as stable as most African nations
Iirc they’re working on fixing it. Flagog is troublesome and is about as stable as most African nations
shame they can't add a nationality field to the db and just have users pick their own nationality. Wouldn't be quite as fun as seeing people posting while they're on holiday or seeing them as they move (like treg when he went to study in germany) but it's better than nothing.
I always thought having a flag from a non-English speaking country excused some grammar errors and weird/incorrect expressions :v:
I always thought having a flag from a non-English speaking country excused some grammar errors and weird/incorrect expressions :v:
Or seeing flags from Taiwan/Turkey and the poster having better English than most American/British posters
Or seeing flags from Taiwan/Turkey and the poster having better English than most American/British posters
Even if they have better grammar and no spelling mistakes there are always some giveaways in the way they phrase and organize their posts. I know I rewrite my posts 3-4 times before sending them, I rewrote the above sentences 3 times until it looked "natural" enough. :quotes: EDIT: I also tend to edit them a lot if I'm not satisfied or use the wrong person/plural. Please don't remove the edit functionality :v:

good riddance that bitch dog kept saying I was from romania like wtf
Read the article?
What if this is just an elaborate plot to force you to do just that? If someone goes on about the state of politics in America mentioning white nationalists in an article about Brexit, you can just :idiotcull: them for not reading. :v: Oh, and I didn't mean to call out sgman or anything like that. The only reason I included his name is because redacting it would be pointless. If I had the quote posted for all to see, they could just click on the link to see who's name it was that was removed.
to be honest, in terms of politics I've only seen people refer to their flags as a way to discredit them and their opinions/arguments ("you're not from here, you don't live here, therefore you do not have a say in this" and such) luckily these people get banned most of the time so the issue isn't as huge as it could have been, but it's still annoying when it happens and tends to kill any proper discussion before it can even begin.
I've also seen the exact opposite happen, where people not from the country in question simply don't understand the local customs ("are x really like this? lol"). It's not just non-Americans commenting on American threads, despite a lot of our news on SH and Polidicks being American - it seems to go both ways when it happens.

I don't think I've ever seen a thread get totally derailed just because someone brought up a flagdog, and if one did, it was probably a bloodbath of bans getting handed out for being off-topic
I know this question probably comes up a bunch already, but i just can't find the proper answer for it. Should i make a new account on the updated site with the same email as the one i use here, or will that interfere if i try to migrate later on? I've had this username for years, wanting to change it since it's my actual last name and not a made up moniker. Sorry, if people bring it up all the time. Just really excited not having to use my old username while wanting to try out the new updated forum.
