From my understanding it applied only if the content was truly original, not some text slapped over a popular response image.
Isnt that like every meme ??
If it was 100% original content it wouldnt be a meme in the first place
better to let 100 go free than ban 1 unnecessarily because your rules were written in an opaque way
i say this not just for jokes or threadshitting, unban him and re-write your rules if they actually mean "you have to make a 100% original image edited for this purpose or you get banned"
thats literally why it specifies that if you made it yourself for the context (eg it's relevant) it's not a problem
Yeah Reagy I like you, but it was a bad ban.
From my understanding it applied only if the content was truly original, not some text slapped over a popular response image.
Considering I do the same thing quite frequently and yet to be banned for it, I'd say you're wrong in this.
Fair enough, the mob has spoke.
devour the mob as sacrifice

See I'd say yes, but I've asked why a post has gotten rated something many times before and never gotten banned for it until 4 days ago.
It depends on who sees your post.
Let's start up a members union so we can take on these tyrannical dictator mods. Long live the bluemen!

We'll need people to moderate the union, for budgeting reasons we can just use the current forum mods.
Reminded me of someone on Twitter who legitimately thought the idea of forum moderators is authoritarian
They deleted their tweet later lmao
Facepunch has ruined me me for other forums. Does anyone else have trouble with moderation on other forums? Like on another forum an idiot removed spoiler tags from a quote (somehow) and spoiled a tv series for me, so I called them an idiot for it and got a "major flaming infraction" for it. It's far from the first time it's happened but it really didn't seem like a flame to me and seemed appropriate to call them out for it.
I find it interesting how the moderation culture on Facepunch has developed compared to other forums.
The fact most other forums give out warnings and infraction instead of bans has always seemed strange to me as well.
[editline]10th September 2017[/editline]
Don't change Facepunch.
Moderators on a lot of other sites take themselves way too seriously. I often go away with the impression that they see themselves as some swaggering sheriff who everyone looks up to. FP mods are pretty chill.

Personally I find that my experiences on Facepunch have made it easier for me to say what I want to say while avoiding getting banned. Because it's so easy to get banned for flaming and such here and with how so many people post such exceptionally retarded shit in some threads at times you have to learn to criticize people for being stupid without resorting to flaming. Makes it a lot easier to get away with stuff on most other sites in my personal experience because while mods on most sites tend to take things more seriously than ours do it's also in general a lot more difficult to get banned to boot unless you're being a total moron.

Everyone else acts like they have some form of authority and have to make sure everyone knows.
We don't bother because everyone are fucking idiots, ourselves included.
Welcome to the sea of piss.

There's also some moderators/admins that just get sick of repeating themselves over the same subject with different people on a regular basis, so they either lose their patience, stop trying to be polite/formal about it, or just start using canned responses to save time on their duties.
I get really annoyed when people make double and triple posts frequently because they are too fucking lazy to copy paste their shit replies into a single reply and face no recourse for such heinous actions.
Automerge and :ass: are truly the best things about Facepunch.

I used to hang around MMO-Champion.com, but the moderation over there is just TOO weak. Not in the way where the mods are trigger happy, but the very opposite. There's just endless circlejerking over everything, people doing 2 letter replies in threads like "no, ok, lol, hahaha no", and while flaming is still bannable (But they use an infraction system) People still get around that and act very condescendingly and doing indirects to everyone they disagree with.
And also countless of pointless and repetitive threads that mods simply go like "No, bad boy *slap on wrist without any further warning*"

tbh if you called somebody an idiot on facepunch after they spoiled something you'd probably both get banned. The other guy for not using spoiler tags, you for flaming.
A lot of forums are like this. Explains why we're called nazis whenever we ban someone from another community.
It's the reason why I semi hang around here still. While I still disagree to many mod actions that I've seen since I started lurking, it beats most of other forums.
And also because MMO-champ uses VB, so it was easy to adapt here.

Hi.
I used CM and Stock Android for 4 years.
I got an S7 in June.
I've enjoyed using Touchwiz more than Stock Android.
The performance is great and there was no crapware pre-installed on my device.
Performance is great? I don't think so, you can even benchmark your same S7 with the pure Android UI and TouchWiz and you'll clearly see that the pure UI has a better performance than TouchWiz.
And you're definitely lying when you said no crapware comes pre-installed on your device (a bunch of useless Samsung and carrier apps).
Stop being a circle jerking elitist, and realise that people have different opinions.
If the truth hurts you and you want to think it's a lie, feel free to do so.
EDIT: I'm the one being the elitist when you own a Samsung? Gosh, you made my day :)

While I think that the guy who triggered me should have been banned as well, he was not.
edit: fixed quotes

I haven't been banned for it yet.
I also remember being banned because Kiwi didn't like my neutral opinion about that guy who wanted to sue a Twitter troll for triggering epileptic attacks on him.
EDIT [sp]before some certain mod complains about not providing context[/sp]:
So, a man is arrested because the victim had gif autoplay enabled and got triggered.

Hey how about you just stop making bad posts.
RockyTV before you make a fool of yourself, I can relate to you because I did a lot of speaking before I think.
Turns out the other way works a lot better.
Consider thinking before speaking then maybe you wouldn't get banned as much.
You could keep on being hung up on your bad posts but that's not entirely beneficial.
As I said in one of my recent RC posts, it's hard to know how low you can get before being banned when people do exactly the same thing as you do and don't get banned. The example we were discussing above (the relevant "memeshit" that someone was banned for) is a clear example of that.
I'll try to keep my bar high so I don't get banned too often. It's no good to have a big ban history unless you want to be known for being a shithead.

you say that, but your posts are genuinely garbage
"So, a man is arrested because the victim had gif autoplay enabled and got triggered."
thats not how epilepsy works
"Performance is great? I don't think so, you can even benchmark your same S7 with the pure Android UI and TouchWiz and you'll clearly see that the pure UI has a better performance than TouchWiz.

he never said that performance was better with touchwiz, just that it was great, so that was just needlessly being rude
"If the truth hurts you and you want to think it's a lie, feel free to do so.
EDIT: I'm the one being the elitist when you own a Samsung? Gosh, you made my day :)"
again with needlessly being rude, and also being condescending
"I'm not replying to this piece of shit that you just wrote..."
and this is just being a shitposting twat
also imagine caring about ban history
Imagine being a mod
