Forums Discussion v3 - Post about Tudd and win a 1 month ban
5,023 replies, posted
Tudd kinda got chased out of some more serious threads recently, and his response is, as usual, to post low tier threads where he can frame his ideals as proper by ignoring anything else.
And the Tudd discussion aside, I think the mods should step in if a third of sh threads are coming from one person, no matter the reason.
We have to let Tudd post his agenda pushing articles or else Facepunch will become what he fears most, a college campus safe space.

So he has to turn facepunch into his own safe space?

Just let Tudd post because he's not breaking the rules. That should be what you do for anyone. Making it a bigger deal than it is confuses me. It has always confused me, really.

i never understood this line of thinking. as long as it's news, who cares who posted it? it's not like that's even anything we could enforce either since if we told someone to post less news they could just start getting their friends to post the articles for them and we'd never know.
Thank goodness I'm not the only one who has been noticing this for a while.
I do want to see other users with different opinions/views posting articles that I may have conflicting views upon, but if it's one user, especially someone well known for his views, and has been finding a way to voice his thoughts through just posting certain articles, then yea, it's a problem.
I was literally thinking about this a couple of hours ago. I had a post all typed out, then deleted it as it was sounding whiny.
A CTRL+F on SH for Tudd's name brought up 13 results, which all of the threads he created was news about hate crimes, bigotry, borderline polidicks topics, social justice warrior hate, and terrorism. All the threads are of course posted within the past three-five days. He's within his rights to post it all, but wouldn't you think that he's trying to still push his own ideological agenda?

If you honestly care so much about what someone posts on an internet forum its time to go outside.
Not even Smurfy posted that much news within a short amount of time.

It's actually pretty clever. Nearly every article he posts is implicitly (occasionally explicitly) political but not quite Polidicks level so he doesn't need proper sources (as most actual journalistic outfits are concerned with shit that actually matters) or risk getting banned for not living up to the debate standards of Polidicks.

Am I the only one that remembers Judas being asked by a moderator to tone down the Trump spam? This was several months ago and I don't even remember the moderator so I could be wrong.

Just add it to the pile of stuff that Tudd can get away with that would get anyone else banned/told to stop.
Just add it to the pile of stuff that Tudd can get away with but others will be told to stop or get banned for
It's not exactly a precedent-setting thing but I found the post I was thinking about
Just let him post his stuff. If I learned anything during my last ban it's to chill.
We are close to the tipping point of most viewers reading his stuff and then eventually just shrugging it off as "the usual tudd stuff" anyway so whatevs.
It helps to develop a thicker skin while also learning to deal with these pseudo-news by being aware of them.
We can help preventing his spam(how much time does this dude spend on FP?) drowning out other articles by actually not getting riled up and awarding him exposure by posting and thus bumping.
It's in our hands to respond to better threads.

I recall in the past others and I believe even Tudd himself were told by mods to calm down the thread posting. I personally don't care too much about it, its just a bit annoying to see 15 threads in 24 hours from a guy obviously pushing an agenda, especially when most of his threads are very minor news events.
let him be, I find it quite amusing that someone would spend so much time and effort looking for articles to post on a video game forum to push his own views, and also talk about how big his dick is
talk about how big his dick is
girth-wise too
girth-wise too
And how it restraints his movement.

You guys just don't know the pain of having a big dick!!!

I distinctly remember Llamaguy having like 20 threads on the SH frontpage earlier this year.
There are other prolific posters around, its just Tudd posts more controversial topics, and thus gets more easily noticed.

yeah im not saying there's never been a mod that tried to enforce that, I'm just saying it's a silly thing to enforce. we should be moderating the quality of news threads, not the quantity. I could literally just change the OP of a bunch of those threads and suddenly there wouldn't be a problem anymore. If shits getting posted that isn't worth a thread like that dumb florida man spree shit was I mentioned earlier, where some schmuck was posting stuff as trivial as "FLORIDA MAN GETS A DUI!!! LOL!!!!" then we should step in, but this whole "THERE'S TOO MUCH NEWS!!" is just a complaint I don't get.
I'm going to sit on the phone with PayPal later today to get issues ironed out
So any updates on this yet?
Hezzy's been real busy lately what with all the stuff going down in his part of the world. Gotta be a little patient while he's out there doing his thing.

People have stated this on multiple occasions. The issue isn't unpopular opinions. Almost nobody here has an actual issue with that. The issue is how people such as Tudd and Chonch (as well as a few other users to a lesser degree) go about discussing things. They piss people off because they're so intellectually dishonest that it's impossible to have anything remotely resembling a proper discussion with them.

Personally if I see a thread posted by Tudd I just ignore it because even before reading the thread title I can immediately tell you what it's about. And he's so consistent with it that there's only been a handful of times I haven't guessed right. His threads are worth nobody's time, just like most of his posts.
Is it no longer acceptable to bump old content release threads over broken links/asking for a mirror? In the past, I've usually seen it reasonable to do so with clear declaration that the link/content is broken and the OP is no longer active, but this ban makes it clear that it is not acceptable. Personally, I don't see a problem with bumping the thread since a majority of the people who posted in that thread, including the creator, have been inactive for years with few exceptions, and the poster's best hope is asking in the thread. That way, at least, anyone who also wants the module can see any mirrors posted later in the thread.

Shit is exploding yo
[editline]19th September 2017[/editline]
Real answer: I have taken leave for tomorrow after doing a ridiculous amount of hours in the past few days and then I have 3 days off so hopefully will achieve something during that time. Unless I sleep for the entire next week
Can golds not see that deleted post placeholder anymore?

Jesus Christ. How do you do all of this? I''d probably pull all of my hair out

Remember when the reason he got out of bans was "We're afraid of this becoming an echochamber" lol

Nope
FP been an echo chamber for a long time, if you expect something other than that on the internet you're naive.
just noticed rockytv is gone thank god
its a good start but i have an extensive list of other accounts to ban
mods pm me for details
I used to be concerned with Tudd because I know how powerful crypto-ideological warfare can be, but people around here have gotten better at seeing through his schtick so I'm not really as worried anymore.
For as much shit FP gets, the userbase here is a lot better at using using common sense and scrutiny than other, more reactionary platforms like Reddit.
