If it was ever possible to change how the ticker looks I would turn it into basically this.

Labpunch ticker should be a web socket.
Good shit.
There's already one implemented, bit it's for read threads only
When someone reports a post, where does it show up, is there a mod only ticker or something.
If I accidentally close a thread I've made, it's still possible to open it again right?
You'd have to ask a mod to re-open a closed thread
When someone reports a post, where does it show up, is there a mod only ticker or something.
Basically yes, and mods can access it from any page since it's a special link in the header itself. It makes life pretty easy, so long as the shitty posts are actually reported so they show up in the list.

Remember to report those shit posts kids!
anyway for me to get a list of ALL my historic posts?
anyway for me to get a list of ALL my historic posts?
Back when labpunch was a thing, yes. The image indexer does go back through time really well (as long as the posts are, of course, still there). I think vB starts throwing a tantrum when it has to do anything past 3 months but the image indexer is an add-on, not something native to vB.
I know with the general search, you can go through time well but you won't be able to find your own individual post. Even if you do this:
1. Find the show thread ID (for example, this thread is: facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1576300)
2. Type https://facepunch.com/misc.php?do=whoposted&t= and insert the thread ID after the t=
3. You should get a list of names of who posted, find yours and click on the respective number
This KINDA works, vB again, in all its glory sometimes throws a tantrum since it has to index who you are but I know for threads younger than 2 years (at most) it SHOULD work.
Alternatively, go on google, type in something stupid (Ask us about the forums for example) then your username and facepunch.

It doesn't work as well but Google usually does a good job at finding stuff.
ask garry to at least get the search part of labpunch worked on
a working backend is good for data, would love it to be worked on if the front end got no love whatsoever
the search is great when it works, it's been around for years
That seems ad hoc.
Wasn't there some guy who had a web plugin which facepunchers installed which datamined facepunch, sending into their that guys database so he could get a load of stats etc about users?
Am I imagining this?
Also why can't get have lab punch back, surely the code is still lying around?

A few years back I tried to make a facepunch post generator, I'd feed it a bunch of sobotnik posts and it'd output nonsense - I called it robotnik. He was creeped out when I told him.
I salvaged the code to make rick and morty themed shitposts for oify now.
I wanna do the same thing for my posts but using NLP instead of markov chains.
yes fpratings
brax(giraffen93 i think?) hosted it until crap banned him for a simple lmao pic ban then got really bad and quit facepunch entirely
Ive seen him post recently though, unless he quit like this week

I'm assuming you're actually referring to Griffster26 which I often confuse the two as well due to similar username structure :v:

Wait what Userscript gives u those notifications?
Question about changing usernames.
My username is my name so my concern is privacy. Made this account in my younger days but now I'm longer comfortable with my name being plastered on everything I post. Not sure if that validates as a good reason.
I did some searching and people have pointed in the direction of Robotboy, but i thought I should ask here first. Possible?
Wait what Userscript gives u those notifications?
Its an option in the ticker once you have the userscript, I believe

"Wait a minute, I don't remember making this post" :v:
Is there any somewhat reliable way of finding ancient threads from like 10 years ago? There's some threads I've remembered that I think deserved archiving at the time but never got it.
[editline]19th October 2017[/editline]
Even using the exact title in the search options doesn't help.

nearly everything from before 2009 is gone, so unless archive.org picked it up you're hosed
