Was that supposed to redirect to meatspin?
They've completely lost all trace of subtlety when it comes to adapting real life events into stories.
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm kinda impressed they at least went with that balaclava and not something more like a Guy Fawkes mask.
Like, I consider myself a pretty big feminist and can't say I am as positive towards GamerGate as some people here but
Oh my god, I watched this with my friends last night and just died laughing. It was so embarrassing and what I really liked what was that it obviously tried to cater to people who had no idea what GG is, so there was all these really out of place moments where the guy would explain acronyms or what doxxing is
I loved it, it was brilliant
The only term drop that made some degree of sense was swatting, because they didn't have a monologue about it, they just said it the way it's meant to be said and let the context explain. All the others were just cringe.
And I'll say it again: an FAL is a gun (and one of the best), not an insult.

Is it bad I actually opened the link only when you mentioned it was meatspin?
It's like visiting an old friend.

GSNY(Gamer State of New York) have waged Total War on the NYPD and government of New York for their goal of eliminating women from gaming. Chaos rules the streets, with militants from all around the state forming a formidable force. The NYPD will have to level up - again - to match this threat.
Really how could a bunch of nerds manage to outsmart a police department like that.
I read that on Kotaku.
Oh god my sides

If the dictionary ever needs a picture for the word "Narcissist", looks like they got a good one.

When the spotlight left her, she tried to get it back briefly, the. When that didn't work, she just gave up almost completely.

The people accused of corruption used the generalization fallacy to tell everyone that all the accusers are harassers because some harassed them.
It's also ironic since the majority of Gamers of the Gamergate Scandal are Anti-Harassment and Anti-Corruption.

Journalists decided the best way to deflect it and force some people onto their side would be to use the source of the issue - a female, feminist game developer who was accused of corruption and had in the past been "harassed." Thus, battle for control of the narrative began - the actions of the few, the actions of the many.
It really shouldn't have been an issue in the first place, but they found a way to make it one. Honestly, if it hadn't started with Zoe Quinn none of this would have happened and websites like Kotaku wouldn't have been able to defend themselves - but here we are. This will go on for years now thanks to the social issue attached to it by journalists at the time.
Welcome to the age of spreading doubt.

That's what makes this whole ordeal depressing, everyone knew big games news sites were garbage. Now that we actually have proof of it and chance to do something about we have this group of people who want nothing more to silence people because they literally believe it's a grand conspiracy against women.
Honestly, how does anyone take that seriously? I think it just shows the poor opinion people in large have of gaming still.
How has this not yet been posted

this resembles no gaming convention in the history of gaming

because nerds on tv can type something into a laptop and the entire police department shutsdown and stuff
So is media going to demonize video games again?

Of course, Ice T is a reputable Black Ops distributor.
They don't advertise it, but every CoD has a special pre-order bonus if you get it from Ice T.
It is so god damn hilarious that the game the girl was making was called Amazonian Warrior and it was some weird ass village sim where all they did was farm and somehow it was pushing gender roles to far. It is so god damn cliche it hurts my brain.
Congrats they just made a fucking massive joke out of actual serious events that happen to actual women
Allegedly. At least when it comes to Brianna Wu.
