What are the job prospects for someone with a bachelor's in cultural anthropology? "Go for a master's" isn't an answer
Cultural anthropology is pretty much a dead major unless you plan on becoming a professor in it then I would say that getting a masters is required to do so.
Going to Troy University in Troy, Alabama for my degree in Music Education.
Your profile page doesn't say where you're from, do you mean University of Saskatchewan by any chance? If so, stay with your parents at least for a while. From what I hear the dorms are shit and Saskatoon is a fucking expensive city to live in.
Yeah, I'm in Saskatoon. I just want to get out of this house because my parents are driving me mental, I don't think I could take four more years of that.

That's a B average. Pretty bad
I've been accepted to my Community College. I'm starting there because...
1.) Cheaper
2.) In a kick-ass city
3.) Once I finish my gen ed. there, I can transfer anywhere.
4.) It can help me get an idea on what I want to do with the rest of my life.
I'm doin' the same thing.

You're so cool. A B average is fine.
I got almost a full scholarship to Oklahoma University. Oklahoma is a shitty place, but they have one of the best study abroad programs, so I'll probably go there, and study at Lund most of the time. :v:
Oh hey fellow OU'er.
OU has a pretty campus, and if you know your way around it's not AS shitty as everyone makes it out to be. But to be honest, I kind of want to go to USC because they have more majors/classes I'm interested in.

Not in today's competitive college market. Most good universities want at least a 3.2

Not if you're considering a university.

Anybody going to a UC?
Would it be easier to transfer from UC to UC or to a Community to a UC???
Not in today's competitive college market. Most good universities want at least a 3.2
3.0 + extra curriculars and maybe a letter of recommendation or two will get you in anywhere.

Community to UC.

Or if you do well on the PSAT, they don't seem to care about anything else. :v:
Community to UC.
FFF- Well, what of Cal-States to UC??
A B average was fine like 10-20 years ago, back when the educational system in the U.S actually had some stability and grades weren't inflated to hell and back. Hell, even a C was respectable back then. Nowadays, only a GPA 3.5+ unweighted is actually middle tier material, with 3.9+ being higher tier.

Colleges don't give shit about the PSAT. It's all about the SAT. /pendantic
Anyone have a good idea of what UCLA looks for in transfer applications?
I'm in the honors program at my community college, but the counselors here are shit. I can't get anywhere with them. I've heard UC's tend to favor people with stories, ie, family friends' daughter got into UCLA immediately out of high school partly because she has tunnel vision and is legally blind. If that's true, depending on how much sway a "story" might hold, it'd seriously up my chances. Boy do I have a story to tell. Long story short; Dad's a bipolar hoarder, younger brother's a felon, older brother's autistic.
Re-toastin in hopes for an answer.
FFF- Well, what of Cal-States to UC??
UC's give priority to transfer students from community colleges.

Many of my friends are heading to the nearby community college in hopes of getting a transfer. The thing is is that you should be a part of a Honors Program in the college, and you should also be very active in any extra-curriculars such as a sport. My friends are doing waterpolo for CC, and saving on money.
I'm trying to see if I can hop from one UC college to another...
I'm also planning to enlist for the NatGuard for my first year in College and enrolling into ROTC on my second year. The experience in the NatGuard would probably look a little nicer for the people in ROTC.

Which UC are you aiming for?
Which UC are you aiming for?
Things are looking very dim for me. UCR is the only option I have left (Merced is a joke), what is worse is that the total aid that UCR (including Pell Grant and other federal loans and aids) is giving to me accumulates to ~27,000 USD.
I only have to pay 9,000 USD.

I had a few friends who knew a few friends that hopped from CC to UCLA, but it's still pretty damn competitive. Their admission process just stick every application on the wall and throw darts while blindfolded.
Does SB have a good location, as in stuff to do?
If you don't have a car, then there's nothing to do. Almost everyone goes home on the weekends and the parties are lame.
Thai University Admission System
Accepted:
Chulalongkorn University - Engineering
Thammasat University - Medicine (Yes, med school starts right after high school in Thailand)
Accepted but declined admission:
Kasetsart University - Electrical Engineering
King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang - Computer Engineering
The so called admission system is based 100% on exam scores though.
I'm rather disappointed with myself, looking back.
I only really applied to one college I was interested in, knowing I wouldn't really get into anywhere else due to my scores. (2.8 GPA[High School was... interesting], ACT 32 and SAT 1530(without writing)). So I only applied to a college I knew I would probably get into and was sort of satisfied with settling on. Southern Polytechnic State University(It's in GA, as am I).
Looking back, I wish I had applied to more colleges, but most of the ones that would be better have closed admissions by now. It kind of sucks. I think I'll just transfer after one or two years to a better school. Due to TAG and shit all you really need to transfer are some required classes and a decent GPA, both of which shouldn't be hard to manage.
