That sounds like the typical private school cost before financial aid.
I'm only 16 right now but my dream my whole life is to attend the University of Michigan. Somewhat undecided right now but I think if I had to pick between two career choices it would be: 1. A history teacher 2. Doctor- some field pertaining to athletics.
2. Doctor- some field pertaining to athletics.
Kinesiology
Debating whether or not go to Cal State, or UC Riverside. Either way I really want to transfer my ass out of there ASAP. Majoring in History or Computer Science (With no proper background on the latter)
i'm debating going to the U of S, but I would probably have to go live in residence seeing as I don't want to live with my parents throughout university.
Sports-physical therapy. Professional PTs in major leagues make money up the butt, as anyone in a major league of ANYTHING does.
Is History ever really useful outside the field of teaching??
Got into my dream school a year ago, no scholarship, cost fifty two grand a year. Now I go to Ohio State, not a bad school, and much much cheaper.
what's even more likely is that I'm going to enlist for the Nat Guard for a year. :smith:
The great thing about living in California is being able to have guaranteed acceptance to ANY UC college with a transfer agreement with a junior college. 2 years for your GE at the junior and 2 for your major at the university. Makes it a whole lot cheaper and easier to go to college
Holy shit :v: I go to Clarkson, its an okay campus. IT GETS COLD AS FUCK UP HERE! And the snow never goes away! It also will snow for an entire week and then stop for a day, to continue for another week. The weather up here is just....I miss Philly.
Clarkson was nice when I visited, but seemed a little too remote for me. Ended up choosing RPI, can't wait.
Holy christ are you going to med school or something
mine's $50,000 in total for a year. school is expensive.
GCCIS loves you, amirite?
Worcester Polytechnic Institute [✓]
WPI is pretty cool, keep in mind we do things differently here (7 week classes, you have do some big projects before graduating, etc). WPI is usually pretty generous with the financial aid, which is why I ended up coming here. Also Worcester is home to the Worcester Turtle Boy. Media'd for kinda NSFW http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burnside_Fountain [editline]27th March 2011[/editline] Oh yeah also the whole bad ratio of Males to Females applies here like it does at most engineering schools
i'm debating going to the U of S, but I would probably have to go live in residence seeing as I don't want to live with my parents throughout university.
Your profile page doesn't say where you're from, do you mean University of Saskatchewan by any chance? If so, stay with your parents at least for a while. From what I hear the dorms are shit and Saskatoon is a fucking expensive city to live in.
I never meet any aerospace engineers IRL but on facepunch there's a lot. Future of humanity represent
AE here. Represent.
Plan on majoring in paleobiology.
Holy christ are you going to med school or something
I'm paying 45K combined and they're raising it to 50K next semester. I know what I wanna do but it won't be able to pay for a loan that now I feel was the biggest waste I've ever done. But now there is no turning back.
so since I got into an ivy league college I win high school right? if I recall correctly that's how it works
so since I got into an ivy league college I win high school right? if I recall correctly that's how it works
A real nerd doesn't care about sports.
Holy christ are you going to med school or something
No, unfortunately that is the around the average cost of higher education in the US [editline]27th March 2011[/editline] At least in the north east
It's about $30,000 a year for UCLA (tuition, books, fees, etc) and that's just for a California resident. If you come from out of state or are a foreigner that just moved to california expect to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $50,000 + a year until you become a U.S citizen/California resident.
I want to get into teaching. I don't know if that's a smart idea though.
You should only do it if you truly love teaching, otherwise prepare yourself for a low paying job.
At McGill. First semester I did fine but this semester has been messing me up so badly. It really questions my intelligence and legitimacy of acceptance when no matter how hard I study I can't get above a B. Whoever says college is a walk in the park is lying. [editline]27th March 2011[/editline] Which reminds me its time to get back to writing that paper.
No, unfortunately that is the around the average cost of higher education in the US
Wow Why does anyone go to university with costs like that
No, unfortunately that is the around the average cost of higher education in the US [editline]27th March 2011[/editline] At least in the north east
Hell even Virginia tech is 24k/yr avg 18 credits + books and dorm what the hell where are you going?
Hell even Virginia tech is 24k/yr avg 18 credits + books and dorm what the hell where are you going?
Only 16k for me! Hooray for in-state tuition!
Wow Why does anyone go to university with costs like that
This day and age, college degree=GED now.
Is History ever really useful outside the field of teaching??
Archeology? [editline]28th March 2011[/editline]
This day and age, college degree=GED now.
Yeah, credential creep is ridiculous. They're pushing for nurses to get professional doctorate degrees in nursing. I mean, why even bother, why not just go for the MD? (or MBBS)
