Good. You probably shouldn't be trying to get with you professors anyway.
I don't know about specifics, but I got into NYU business with a 3.9 unweighted gpa, 5.1 weighted, and 2210 on the sat. They're great about standardized testing, you can just use 3 ap tests or subject tests if you don't want to use your ACT/SAT. Definitely apply; I visited when I was in NY over spring break and it's a great place. If I wasn't set on UT I'd definitely consider it.

What a coincidence haha
It's not really a matter of how hard it is, I just want to know what I exactly need to do to get in. Being from New York, it's been my dream college pretty much since I was in the 5th grade. My father went there as well, and he's thankfully been helping my odds by making some hefty donations to the school and getting inducted among one of the top lists of most valued donators to the school.

I'm sure that'll go a long way, haha. Sounds like you've already got what it takes to get in, but that should seal the deal. My suggestion is to apply ED, which should give you an even better chance.
I'm a freshman at UC Berkeley, heading for my MD.
I never knew there were so many educated people in this forum
Makes sense though, most are 15-17 and are looking to college
Give it a couple years and we'll all be working men/women :v:
Weird thought, really
Any suggestions for good Film/movie production colleges? Live in WI, but open to anything.
Sophomore now, just want to think about it early,

Well, if you're in Wisconsin and willing to leave state, Columbia College Chicago has one of the best film/tv/media programs in the States. I was accepted there, but I'm not going because it's a private art school and it's pretty expensive.

Damn, that sounds pretty handy. I just read an email from them saying I'm in, so I don't know what they liked in particular about my app, but I know I made my essays and short responses very personalized and insightful. I think if you appear as a curious, passionate person with a solid academic record they'll want you.

I hate you. I only realized now that I'm in college already that I wish I would've tried to go for a service academy but oh well.
Planning on going to Colorado Springs Academy and coming out a Second Lieutenant in the United States Airforce, specializing in IT work.
Sure, the pay is only 40k a year, but after 4 years it's a guaranteed promo to Captain which makes 60k a year, plus free housing and other benefits if I live on-base.
30+ day vacations with paid airfare, too.
Are you able to change your major after admitting your SIR??

Oh hi.
I'm honestly a bit worried, 1 in 50 make it in... and a lot of it is based on Athletics. I haven't done single sport in high school, but I'm working my ass off to get in shape for the PTs.
Is there really any downside to applying to a metric fuckton of schools, because I have little to no idea of which school I'm actually entering, so it's going to be a shitstorm of applications.
And also, on the college note, since you people are the first actual college students I've actually talked to, do colleges consider your Weighted GPA or Unweighted, cuz I went and took a bunch of APs and I did pretty decent in them, just slipped up on a few on account of being a lazy fuck. My unweighted should be between 3 and 4 and my weighted should be either 4.0 or slightly above. Basically, should I be worried about my acceptance?

usc school of cinematic arts is the most prestigious film program in the country, i would start with applying there
Anyone have a good idea of what UCLA looks for in transfer applications?
I'm in the honors program at my community college, but the counselors here are shit. I can't get anywhere with them. I've heard UC's tend to favor people with stories, ie, family friends' daughter got into UCLA immediately out of high school partly because she has tunnel vision and is legally blind. If that's true, depending on how much sway a "story" might hold, it'd seriously up my chances. Boy do I have a story to tell. Long story short; Dad's a bipolar hoarder, younger brother's a felon, older brother's autistic.

Can anyone recommend any good business schools in the UC system?

They look at your weighted GPA
What are the job prospects for someone with a bachelor's in cultural anthropology? "Go for a master's" isn't an answer
Only place I applied was GSU (Georgia State University) because it's the only college/university in the state that offers a degree in Astronomy. Got accepted. Majoring in Astro phsyics/Astronomy and minoring in theatre.
I am thinking of Majoring in Political Science when I get into college, any ideas what I should minor in?

The only downside is the application costs add up - for my school they charged $10 per transcript after the first 3 to send out and the schools themselves all wanted $50-100 just to submit the application. That being said the average kid from my school (and there are 1100+ / class) applies to 11 schools. I'm not sure what your definition of fuckton is but 10+ gives you a good variety of reach and safety schools.
They look at whatever GPA is better but no one can say what your GPA will get you into - it's based on what other kids from your school are coming out with. A 4.2 weighted GPA can be ivy league bound from one school but it may take a 5.3 with a 36 ACT and 3+ extra curriculars from another school.

Ah, okay. No, I'm in Naperville. So, about half an hour from Schaumburg.
What's a good school to apply to for an international Asian student?
I'm hoping to major in Economics or Law, preferably in an Australian or US university.
My grades are average. I took GCE 'A' Levels and got straight B's.

Maybe business or economics?
Anyone here taking geology?
If so give me info, it's another thing I've been looking into

I haven't done sports either, but I'm going to start going to the workout room at my school. I'm currently a freshman so I still have a while to go but I think it's better to have a goal earlier, that way I can start working on improving things. Hopefully I can get into a sport after getting in shape.

I'm doing polysci next year, and am probably going to at least get a certificate in business. I might minor in economics (like the guy above me recommended) but it's a lot of calculus and I'm not sure if I'd be able to handle that. At least try to get something official that's business related, that way you always have a fallback, and you'd be surprised how often being business savvy can come in handy.
3.0 High School gpa...........I blame video games.
At this point I'll be lucky to get into a university at all.
