there already been reports of families walking out when the orgy started
It's almost literally at the end of the movie - how are they okay with the first 70ish minutes?!
What's with everybody hating this? When the trailer was posted here a few months back the general response was "haha looks funny". You fucks are all worse than 4chan. Pick a side already jesus christ.
Facepunch is still not a hivemind no matter how much you think it's true
You don't have to lie to me, I know that Facepunch is only 20 people with countless alts.
The interview, Deadpool, and now this movie.
I don't know about deadpool or sausage party but the interview was fucking garbage.

Apparently it was nearly NC17 with all the shit it pulls. Which I guess means there's gonna be a gratuitous food sex scene in here somewhere lol.
postal confirmed psychic :v:
I hope this film doesn't do well enough to make a trend of "Adult" animated movies in the oncoming years.
i'd love more adult animated movies in general, tbh just not in the same vein as this
But arent you supposed to judge a movie based on its trailers? They're supposed to make it look good and get you to go see it after all.
The problem is trailer houses and marketing teams usually aren't on the same page as the screenplay writers and production crew. A film that has some serious shit going down, peppered with a few light-hearted moments to help you understand the characters and their relationships could be advertised entirely by those light-hearted bits if the marketing team thinks the actual content of the film is too serious or whatever to pull an audience. Horribly misrepresenting the film and damning it to cinema hell as the majority of cinema-goers ignore it for looking too generic.
I saw it last night and a few people walked out
I went to the earliest session that was screening in Newcastle on the day of release and there weren't many there - maybe 15 people. There was myself, and a couple who were probably in their twenties. The rest were well above 50, and some above 60 and no one walked out. So much laughter to be had.
Humor is subjective, except when it's not. -Facepunch
I saw it with a full theater and most people liked it but the general consensus was "wtf did I just watch". It's something I'd never thought I'd see in my lifetime and fuck it, I'm glad I did
i'd love more adult animated movies in general, tbh just not in the same vein as this
Certainly, I'd prefer stuff like El Dorado or Prince of Egypt, maybe even stuff like the Simpsons movie. I think the matter is also on writers who have the backing to fund a well made movie. An adult/mature movie doesn't need matters of sex, drugs, or swearing to be such, to obtain such a status is more on subject matter and the themes observed in it.
Humor is subjective, except when it's not. -Facepunch
Pretty sure the quote should be: "Humor is subjective, except when it's my opinion". If you disagree you are objectively wrong btw.

Because when you hear "R-rated cgi animated movie about swearing food with leaked script hinting at crazy orgy scene" folks are gonna want to see it. Someone on /co/ leaked it, and then it got taken down on youtube, then put on a webm and I put the webm up here.
this movie looks fuckin terrible
I thought it was really good. It's a lot better than what you'd expect from seeing this scene and the trailers alone.
Just watched it was moderately funny, no belly laughs but it had some good quips, probably would've been better if i was high my main problem tho: [sp]the religious overtones should've been undertones. The movie tries a little too hard to be smart by shoving the religious themes right in your face and would've been better if they literally just said 'people' instead of 'gods'. Subtlety and allegory as opposed to open criticism would have gone a long way for this movie considering it's take on religion isn't all that smart or creative in the first place.[/sp]
Man this thread is confusing. Is this film good or not?
AllI can say after watching this movie is Dude what the fuck. I expected something else.
i'd love more adult animated movies in general, tbh just not in the same vein as this
Man, I'd love for something like Venture Bros. to get a movie.
Man this thread is confusing. Is this film good or not?
Apparently its good but you need to understand the context.
Man this thread is confusing. Is this film good or not?
People who have seen it generally like it People who haven't seen it don't
Im more interested in the petitions on change.org and online protests with words like "Remove sausage party from movie theaters!" or something like that. What's funny though is that in a lot of countries (including mine) dont have movie age ratings so I wouldnt be surprised if the people who started those petitions are from europe :v:
So apparently some animators came out of the woodwork and commented on the production of this film in this article: http://www.cartoonbrew.com/feature-film/sausage-party-directors-conrad-vernon-greg-tiernan-making-2016s-outlandish-animated-film-142425.html pretty sad to say the least. I'm also an aspiring animator and seeing how dirty the industry treats these artists is so disgusting.
Really the only secure place to be in animation is an executive or VA and even then the latter has it's share of shit. This is why we hear about all these different times animators or writers try to unionize or strike. That above is just awful and they probably can't sue because the studio can just throw money and lawyers to make the suits go away.

I'm training to be an animator in Vancouver, right now, and now I know what company I should steer clear of. The thought that they had such talented people doing work for free and not even giving them credit makes me fucking sick.
Thats fucked up. The best thing about this flim was the animation. I was stunned sometimes with how well it looked compared to the some what lazy writing.
Man this thread is confusing. Is this film good or not?
It probably won't be remembered but right now it's the best thing you can watch in theaters
Just saw the film last night and I loved it. And the animation was really good. I really liked the character designs (they look like something id see in "the brave little toaster" but 3d), except for the bun. And the humans looked pretty weird. The film had me laughing a lot too. It surpassed my expectations.
