[QUOTE=fruxodaily;53098535]After my latest ban it's about the outrage of the joke which deems it ban worthy or something idk
Just think twice before pressing "post quick reply" I guess[/QUOTE]
your "joke" was just poorly executed memeshit though
imagine if i posted that cat and my defense was "its a joke dude lighten up"

I find it hilarious your still so shook by it, that someone could post Toto lmao. Dude, get over it, it was a shit joke I made and I'm sorry it riled you up but it really was "a joke dude lighten up" in your words.
All I'm saying is since speaking to some mods and stuff, its about the time and the place of a joke and if you lined your ducks up perfectly, you're aight. If you didn't (like I did), you just lost whack-a-mole and you were the mole.
Hey guys,
where can I ask about the community fund?
Should I make a new thread or is @hezzy gonna reply here?

I do everything by hand and I've been away for a few days, I've gone through and it's up to date now
Is anyone having problems with certain youtube videos not playing when they're linked using a video tag?
For instance, everything linked in [URL="https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1592590"]this thread[/URL] I'm able to click to play, but the video in [URL="https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1567806&p=53100111&viewfull=1#post53100111"]this post[/URL] won't let me click it to play the video. Chrome's up to date, I've tried disabling ublock and still no dice on fixing the problem.
Looks like the new fourms are being attacked or just shitting themselves again

Okey, thank you honey bear!
Got it now :)

Attacked by shitposters.
Don't worry they were always there.
Alright I came back to the programming section after a time away, I was already aware that it had swapped over to newpunch
A simple scroll down waywo causes chrome to eat 40% of my cpu. The page scrolling is extremely blippy and unresponsive, and there are extremely visible variations in framerate. This does not appear to happen in image and video heavy oldpunch sections, which scroll at a very consistent framerate. Adblock and privacybadger are blocking doubledigit requests on newpunch (20+), and on oldpunch they're at 1/1 each
I know this has been beaten to death but its unusable for me currently. I don't visit waywo as much as I used to (due to illness), but i suspect this will big usability kick that the section doesn't need
This will never happen but it would be nice if the section could go back to oldpunch until the performance is fixed as its currently extremely not fun to browse in the programming section, which is/was the best community on this site (screw u everyone else)
Edit:
Even simple newpunch threads are extremely laggy, eg

If you're not already on it, try switching to normal view using the eye icon in the top right.

I'm already in normal view afaik, its the threads themselves which seem to perform terribly
can someone in control of the facepunch discord unban my account please, i was banned because of a perma on here and now it's lifted the invites won't work
Try now.

nice one thanks
I just posted something for the first time in Newpunch, was pretty happy when I pasted an image link and the image just showed up in the post. No formatting necessary, and I knew exactly what my post was going to display as. Also, the fact that editing your post doesn't take you away from the thread and just makes the post editable is a great feature. Great work guys :)
wow ok i'm just trying to be positive
You can also upload stuff directly instead of hosting it elsewhere
[QUOTE=highvoltage;53103851]You can also upload stuff directly instead of hosting it elsewhere[/QUOTE]
also you can copy an image and press ctrl+v in the text box to upload it (my favourite feature so far)

Change needs to happen for a good reason to be appreciated.
If there's other problems being ignored, but almost pointless things being improved, don't be surprised when you're being roasted.

And quite notably there's many very valid complaints about WYSIWYG editors which is the primary thing NixNax was praising. WYSIWYG is very unpopular amongst programmers which Facepunch has a rather high population of so the choice to make Newpunch's posting WYSIWYG only is obviously going to be unpopular.

This is my definition of "unexpected behaviour" and I hate it. If I paste a link in a text box, I'm pasting a link in a text box. Tags make a whole lot more sense, we just need a more unified tag system (that doesn't change once a year).

I'm fine with Markdown (though that seems to be a minority opinion), and I agree that people should be allowed to switch between WYSIWYG and normal text editors as they please. I understand there are many circumstances where one wouldn't want their input to do something they didn't tell it to (being a programmer myself).
I also understand there are problems with Newpunch as it stands, but I feel like there has been a ton of negativity surrounding it, and sometimes a little positive feedback on the good things helps keep people motivated. That's all!

I’d be fine with really anything giving me the ability to manually edit what my post looks like. BBCode just happens to be what I’m used to. I’m not a big fan of WYSIWYG so really any sort of “tag” alternative would be nice imo

Markdown would be a massive improvement over BBCode tbh, it's a unified system where almost every single implementation uses the exact same notation for things. There's tons of editors and previewers out there so making shithuge posts won't need awkward editing -> preview -> edit workflows and I'm all but positive there's an assload of frontend libraries that parse it all nicely for you.
Having the option to use Markdown or WYSIWYG makes sense to me tbh.

Garry doesn't seem interested in trying to implement a non-WYSIWYG editor judging from what he's said in the past, unfortunately. Perhaps someone could work up a user script or something though that would be able to let users type BBCode or Markdown (preferably the former in my opinion, I don't understand why Markdown is so popular when it's so much more difficult to remember shit with) and then convert it to the format Newpunch uses before submitting.

To add to this it’d be nice if we had a sub forum “playground” of sorts for API and script developers to test their stuff on (ie test threads, posts, etc.)
Some scripts would be a lot harder to develop like the one you mentioned because you’d have to test it by posting in actual threads, so having the ability to test projects freely would be helpful from a developer standpoint.
I know this isn’t the best example but the closest thing I can think of is something like the /r/test subreddit
