Good to see we're still focusing on the REAL issues, or else I'd say people are milking a silly, silly, SILLY situation to the max of their ability!
Good to see we're still focusing on the REAL issues, or else I'd say people are milking a silly, silly, SILLY situation to the max of their ability!
Well, what else am I supposed to get mad at? I need something.
Off the cuff but as much as I hate how much people over do everything, I understand why. This forum has been through a lot. It's going to continue to go through a lot. That's okay and it's also okay to steer off the serious track sometimes and talk silly. However I have to agree that sometimes people go too far. Not just us users us mods do it too. In a perfect forum we wouldn't need moderators.
I demand breathalyzers, paid out of the community fund, to be sent to every mod! I also demand every mod, before triggering any action on the mod tools, should be required to blow (or succ, fp still is an equal opportunity employer) into the breathalyzer, and if it fails, the ban should rebound on the mod in two to five days, with the trigger date chosen randomly to better create a dreadful feeling of fear and powerlessness, which I find conductive to the oppression this forum requires every waking hour! The people have spoken! (aka let me have my shitty snipe posts gawd :( )
can we just move to newpunch already
Yes please, so Garry will be forced to work on it more.
I think I've been here for five or six years now, too lazy to check my old account. But I've gotten really attached to this place in that short time. It's like a little circle of friends tucked away from the rest of the internet which is mostly an anonymous sea of people at this point. Facepunch makes me feel like I'm experiencing a last piece of the "old internet," like message boards and forums, where everybody in a community knows each others' names and it's all comfy and cozy. There isn't really an influx of new users and so most people here have been here for a long-ass time, and the average age of people on here has pretty much gone up year by year. People here spent their teenage years with each other and there's something really special about that, I think. It's really a community in a way that most online communities aren't. Most of them are just semi-anonymous seas of users. Which makes me extremely paranoid of getting perma'd because I don't really know where I'd go to. This place is unique and special, and it makes me feel like I have a home when in real life I don't really. Even if I'm that one roommate that nobody likes. Man, I really wish I'd been around for Usenet.
I avoid FP if I drink at all lmao, I don't need you guys knowing what I'm like drunk.
I've started logging out and hiding the password when I drink. Discord gets no such mercy though :v [editline]14th February 2018[/editline] Though tbh when i'm drinking w/ friends i'm not really going to be even checking discord.

Discord is kinda rough if I'm drunk. If I'm really feeling like messaging someone I will not avoid doing so.
are you trying to tell me that you don't drink alone
Surprisingly rarely. I get bored when i'm drunk and have nobody to talk to. Text isn't the same, and voice chats tend to only get fuller around ameriburger times.
Yes please, so Garry will be forced to work on it more.
There'll be probably no improvement tbh. The rust/gmod forum has been moved over and there still hasn't been that much improvement in terms of development time, but they're not human anyway so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A drunk Doom is a happy Doom if you've ever been in a voice chat with him. :v:
the fact that there really isn't much old internet left is the reason I joined in the first place. it's just gotten worse since then.
The social-media-ification, algorithmic sorting, vote weighting, and gamification of new internet is making real community and real conversation pretty difficult. Facepunch is the only place I can go where real conversations will happen (aside from small discords). As garbage as Facepunch's conversations are, I don't think you'll find any better.

Even though i'm not like, personally friendly with folks on here (which i feel like i'd like to change), i do really enjoy discussing things here. The beauty of a forum design is in being able to have conversations at length and in detail over a long period of time without losing past context, and it's the type of conversation that'd be virtually impossible to have face-to-face.
[T]https://i.imgur.com/TRKvw7p.jpg[/t]
meh good enough
meh good enough
I think it's improved, personally
A drunk Doom is a happy Doom if you've ever been in a voice chat with him. :v:
My favorite all time moment is drunk Sgt. Doom reading out the FATAL rules. Never have I heard a more eloquent way of someone saying anal circumference and reading the instructions on how to increase it.
So, once we move, will I still have Gold? I already can't access the GMF.
So, once we move, will I still have Gold? I already can't access the GMF.
Have you migrated your facepunch account to your newpunch one?
Have you migrated your facepunch account to your newpunch one?
uhh, no?
uhh, no?
The link for migration is in the OP. Then you should have gold. Yay!
The link for migration is in the OP. Then you should have gold. Yay!
Okay, did it, cool! Now, if only this verification email will arrive.
Okay, did it, cool! Now, if only this verification email will arrive.
Same, I've tried for the past few days and nothing's come through. Also, somebody needs to proofread the account migration page. Very unprofessional, currently requesting refund, never shopping here again, etc.

I should maybe do a story hour on discord sometime.
That's got nothing on a story about a certain Lucifer N.B. that I think either you or someone else on discord sent me. I should maybe do a story hour on discord sometime.
That would be grand. Would be nice if someone else would record it too.

Who was the user who had that (((globalist))) script and got outed as a Nazi because of it? And anyone got some kind of screen cap of evidence/aftermath? A friend asked about something I sent him once, and it sounds a lot like that.
