I mean fuck I got several ideas but many of those would require technical knowledge on my end and I'm not confident enough
I don't have any ideas, and even if I did, I'd probably think that the money would be better spent on someone else's ideas.
As I said above, donating like 90-95% of it to some charity/charities and saving the remainder for some future Holiday raffle(s) might be a good idea. I would normally suggest one portion of the donation could go towards the EFF, but that is US based and FP is UK based so I don't know if that is something that you guys would be too attached to helping us abroad with. :v:
amnesty international is based in london [editline]13th March 2018[/editline] or idk there's guaranteed to be some NGO in the UK that's worked with the videogame industry if we want to keep it strictly nerdy but i'm all for donating it
I think I'm missing something because I can't see where you set that background image.
I completely forgot the community fund was a thing, tucking away the entire thing in a subforum where the only content ever posted is other people's funding applications is a guaranteed way to make everybody forget about it. Those funding reports should have been posted in this thread the whole time.
Glad I didn't splurge all my coins on increasing avatar sizes now. The backgrounds are really nice, less obnoxious than some titles but still a really neat personalization for the user.
You should be able to pay 100 coins for an animated background. I need to keep my Blingee.
I have literally over $2,000 sat in a Paypal account and I'm asking people to submit proposals to use the money on. At this point, I really don't know what more I can do to encourage people.
I remember submitting a suggestion for Game Tournaments, and if I had the time to run and manage them I would but I am unable to right now.

Game servers were gonna be the best idea for that but honestly what games nowadays would have a long lasting server? It looks like the TF2 one already died, i think a gmod one would go the same route too i would think. I cant even think of many other games that have server hosting either.

Setting a background is a little broken right now. It works for some people but for others it just eats your coins.
Do you get coins just for being a member? None of my posts have transferred but I have 32 coins right now.
Do you get coins just for being a member? After that you gain coins by browsing and posting, but it seems like there's a 'coin point' cap where you can only earn so many 'points' each day and the more coins you have the more 'points' you need to get another coin. Though that's just from my observations.
I thought it would only count posts for coins when the section you posted in gets moved over.
Nope, new sections being brought over don't contribute to your coins. they do bump up you post count on Newpunch, though.
So is THE MOVE happening soon or Soon™
My posts and stuff doesn't seem to have moved over to my account on newpunch yet, did i screw up something, or is there gonna be a full transfer of it all?
My posts and stuff doesn't seem to have moved over to my account on newpunch yet, did i screw up something, or is there gonna be a full transfer of it all?
there will be a full transfer when the forum gets finished working on, right now it's still WIP
Real quickly, is there a Steam discussion anywhere? I'd really like to bring awareness to "Hot Mars 69", a game made by Ghost_RUS using Gameguru that literally uses the Slasher model from Dead Space in a blatant act of copyright infringement.
Check the Valve subforum.
Shit. I dunno how I missed the thread literally titled "Valve / Steam / Steam Machine". Thanks.
The new forum looks great, but I think it’s important to finish the mobile styling before making the switch; there’s no need to be hasty. I also feel like an option to move the sidebar to the right and an arrow or something to hide it would be nice, but it’s not a big deal.
It's not yet feature-complete but it's a great step in the right direction!
Can we make the mobile site look like this please
Conventional wisdom for responsive design is to design it for mobile and tablets first then adapt that to desktop. It's harder to have something made for desktop and turn it into mobile form. A simple solution might be to move the event log stuff on the side to the bottom or have it only show when you select it. Having it show all the time and dominate the mobile screen isn't good imo since you don't really care about who's posting in rust or videos you are about seeing the different sections and your subscriptions (and those sweet sweet coins)
Am I the only one that thinks Toxx Clauses are the single dumbest thing a user can do on this forum this side of posting That Cat? I mean, I get that it stands for being resolute in your comments and such, but it still seems like one of the dumbest things someone can do around here. Certainly the dumbest thing that doesn't warrant a ban right away. You can stand sure behind your thoughts without forcing yourself into humiliating positions and/or just outright losing your account entirely. Can someone enlighten me as to why people are willing to throw their accounts away and/or force themselves to do asinine, humiliating shit to keep them? It just doesn't make sense to me and I'll never toxx my own account. I feel there's no need to bother with mobile designs at all. My phone came pre-loaded with Chrome Mobile, which loads desktop sites just fine. Between that and pinch-to-zoom I find myself going out of my way to force desktop on every site I possibly can when I'm on my phone. 9 times out of 10 I find the site easier to navigate that way than I do with the mobile version. I hate mobile design. So bubbly and cluttered and dumb looking. Just give me the desktop site by default and let me pinch-to-zoom when I need to, kthnx.
